DESCRIPTION:
I. General Description: Volunteered at a local therapeutic horse farm, which consisted of: doing tasks
around the barn/pastures, cleaning, and interacting with people of all ages who had disabilities.
II. Purpose & Relationship to Objectives of TBP: These sessions assisted the members and initiates
of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society to give back to the community, while in a low stress
learning environment. These events allowed members to interact with those whom they might not
communicate with on a daily basis, allowing a great amount of interpersonal growth.

VI. Overall Evaluation/Results (Be Specific): Those that attended had a fantastic time while learning
about different disabilities and duties around the barn. I expected a larger turn out, but it was the
beginning of the semster and students were just settling into their schedules.

General Description: Collected goods in the Engineering 2 building for Feed-A-Bull, which is an
organization that provides USF students with free food.

impact our fellow Bulls in a positive manner, as many of our colleagues experience difficult times that
we are not aware of. Holding this event was also educational and informative, as many of the
members were not aware that USF had an organization that collected food for students in need.

General Description: Volunteered at a local homeless shelter, serving residents and locals a hot
dinner and socializing with them afterwards.
II. Purpose & Relationship to Objectives of TBP: This event allowed members/initiates to directly
interact with locals in our community. It was an eye opening experience for all participaants, as you
don’t realize the seriousness of homelessness until you are immersed within an environment which
permits it. This event helped members build their communication skills within people of all ages.

time. It was truly heartwarming, as we were able to instantly see these faces light up when they were
handed a hot meal. I also admired the opportunity of being able to listen to these people, as they
come from such diverse backgrounds.

General Description: A new social event for both members and initiates which includes pizza, a fundraising raffle for a free Tau Beta Pi graduation stole/cord, and jeopardy to help prepare iniaties for their quiz the next day. Members are also free to stop by, socialize, and pick up their own personalized bents provided by headquarters from the previous semester. II. Purpose & Relationship to Objectives of TBP: The objective of this event was to allow members to pick up their personalized bents while giving initiates the opportunity to study for their upcoming quiz while having fun and relieving any unnecessary stress.
