Primary User Interface Modifications
• New Menu Bar at top of screen
• Logout button replaces “Search” and “Site Index” buttons
• “Responders” title removed
• Icon Key button was moved to the right hand portion of the screen (applies
only to Missions)
• Icon Key color additions: The icon key was modified to reflect color coding
by status

• Missions Status color coding: Highlighting the status of Missions on both the
Icon Key and the Missions board
– Red: Unassigned, Assigned, or Tasked
– Yellow: Mobilizing or Enroute
– Green: On Scene, Demobilizing or Complete
– Grey: On Hold or Cancelled
– Purple: Denied

Dashboard Views – Configuration
• Once an Event has been selected for the first time (or when a user selects a new
Event), the system prompts the user to configure his/her Dashboard Views
• Dashboards can be selected via a check box and then placed onto the Top
Left, Top Middle, Top Right, or Bottom portions of the screen
• Each Dashboard View has a window available to close or minimize the
application
• Dashboard Views that are closed are added to a Catalog on the configuration
screen for easy retrieval

Dashboard Views – Configuration
• Users can “drag and drop” Dashboard Views to different areas of the screen in
either “Configure” or “Design” mode
• Selections are persistent through the user’s session and Event – If the user
logs out, when he/she logs back in to that Event, the dashboard views reappear
the way they were left at last log out
• Once all Dashboards have been selected and placed on the screen, the “View”
button places the screen into a View mode

Dashboard – Battle Rhythm
• Allows a user to view activities (meetings, conference calls, briefings) for the
State EOC and to view/input activities for his/her specific Desk
• Dashboard view will display the time, location, activity name, and owner plus
additional information
• Activities will be color highlighted as the activity nears ( Upcoming = Blue,
30 minutes away = Yellow, 15 minutes away = Orange, Activity has started = Red)

Dashboard – H+ Timer
• Allows an administrator to enter an Event Name,
Date/Time, and Description to start a timer for an
Event
• Original intent: Post-landfall Countdown for a
Tropical Storm, but could also be used to indicate a
specific timeframe after any type of emergency event

• The Settings button allows a user to select which Timer(s) will be displayed
in the Dashboard View

• Allows a user via a checkbox to “follow” a Mission or Information Message
• Changes to the status of the Mission or Info Message will be easily identified
• Clicking on the Mission or Info Message in the Dashboard View takes the user
to that specific Mission or Information Message
• Missions and Information Messages are separated, grouped, and easily
selected by clicking on the radio button at the top of the Dashboard View

• The Settings button allows you to select via a check box which Missions and
Messages you wish to follow
• The Search box allows you to enter a partial word search to filter the list of
available Missions or Messages
• Missions and/or Messages that are followed are also depicted in a specific
column on the Missions and Information Message screens

• This view summarizes the status of Missions in a pie chart
• Mouse-over the pie “slices” to obtain numbers for each Mission Status

• This Dashboard View summarizes information from the American Red Cross
National Shelter System
• Lists Open Shelters by county and distinguishes between Regular and Special
Needs shelters
• Clicking on the County Name or Summary links to the ARC webpage for
additional information

Dashboard – SitRep
• This Dashboard View is based on information collected from EEI
• The information displayed focuses on the Status of the Emergency Event at the
County level:
– Counties at a Level I Activation
– Counties with a specific local activation level
– Counties under a local state of emergency
– Counties that have issued a mandatory evacuation order
– Counties that have issued a voluntary evacuation order
– Status of County Offices (open or closed)
– Status of County Schools (open or closed)
• The Dashboard View reflects the color coding scheme presented in EEI
(Red = Closed or State of Emergency = Yes, Activation Levels IV and III = Green,
Activation Level II = Yellow, Activation Level I = Red)
• County Listings can be filtered by State Region
• The “Report” icon to the right of each County Listing links to the most current
actual SitRep posted by that County in Information Messages

• This Dashboard View presents information collected in the H+ Timer
• Allows an Administrator to enter a Date/Time, Event Name, Activation Level,
and Description to calculate the days activated
• The Report button allows a user to run a Report by Event and/or Activation

• Saved Reports can be launched by name from within the Dashboard View

function that will allow for easier searching to be completed
within Missions and Info Messages windows

• Essential Elements of Information (EEI) can now be easily modified by an
Administrator within the “Content Management” section of EMC. The result is a
tailorable list of EEI content and selections
