Florence University of the Arts and Apicius International School of HospitalityChef Uniform Requirements

Students are required to come to class dressed in an appropriate manner. No student will be allowedin class without the correct dress.

For all professional culinary arts and baking and pastry courses or experiential learning projects,student must:

• Wear a white chef's jacket with long sleeves. The jacket must always be clean and pressed.Students will not be allowed to attend class with only an apron or a dirty, unsanitary jacket.The school will not provide a substitute jacket.

• Wear a white chef's hat (no skull caps) and have all hair tied back in an appropriate manner.

The school will not provide a substitute hat and students will not be allowed to attend class with inappropriate head-wear.

• Wear black (or small checkered) chef pants

• Wear appropriate footwear – low safety shoes or sabot with slip-resistant sole and impact resistant protective toe cap (composite material or steel cap). Preferred black. Shoes must meet EU certification CE EN 345SBEA or CE EN 20346. We advise that students therefore purchase the correct footwear in Florence.

• Wear a clean, white apron. The apron must always be clean and pressed. Students will not be allowed to attend class with a dirty, unsanitary apron. The school will not provide a substitute apron.
