    Floral Visions

    by Sandie Pugh

This quilt is embroidered with my Bernina 830 sewing

machine. Each block takes about 4 hours to embroider.

The center block had five hoopings, so it was about 12

hours total embroidery time. These quilts are a labor of

love. Machine pieced. Machine appliqud. Machine

    quilted.

    Kat Nap

    by Paula Finlinson

I LOVE CATS! The pattern and fabric packet were given to

me as a birthday gift. Making this quilt was easy, fun and

just enough appliqu to make it interesting. I quilted this

quilt on my HQ16. Making cat quilts is one way to enjoy

MANY cats WITHOUT the cat box. Machine pieced. Hand

    appliqud. Machine quilted.

My First Shop Hop - 2009

    by Sarah Rahmel

My first Shop Hop was a fun and exciting adventure. My

two little ones and a very patient Theodora (and

sometimes patient au pair, Lisa) were partners in crime!

What an amazing learning curve! Thank you to all the

stores and most especially, Theodora, my driver; I had no

idea how addictive this event would become! Machine

pieced. Hand and machine appliqud. Machine quilted.

    Thoroughly Modern Thirties

    by Trish Grant

I wanted to use some of my collection of vintage blocks

and scraps. Instead of using the traditional white

background and placement, I decided to use my 'cheddar'

for the center and float the appliqud blocks. The red

sashing and binding is the only contemporary fabric. I

chose to be untraditional in the quilting as well. Hand and

machine pieced. Hand appliqud. Machine quilted.

    Midnight Flight

    by Toni Nicholes

I enjoyed the new experience of piecing using the

embroidery machine. I love bright colors and had fun

choosing the different fabrics and threads for the appliqu

and embroidery. I envisioned the quilt with more

embellishing and so added more quilting on the longarm

and added crystals and beads. Machine pieced. Machine

    appliqud. Machine quilted.

    2009 Shop Hop Sampler

    by Theodora Letz

The 2009 Shop Hop carries a special place in my heart. We

were traveling in the company of my friend Sarah, her au-

pair Lisa, our daughters Iris and Sophia, and Sarah's still

little ones Tristan and Rose. Michael Jackson's passing

wove his music into the fabric of my memories. Machine

    pieced. Machine appliqud. Machine quilted.

    Third Base, aka Hydrangea

    by Mary Stanfield

Growing up in Kansas City, MO, our backyard was a big

play space. For kickball, first base was a lilac bush cluster,

and the hydrangea was third base. I know my mother

shuddered every time that bush was trampled. Somehow it

survived. This fabric line brought that memory to life for

me. Fabric yo-yos brought out individual blossoms.

    It's a Wonderful Life

    by Diana Eggers

This was a block-of-the-month project from Carriage

show in 2008 and just finished it in time for the 2011

show. Machine pieced. Machine appliqud. Machine

    Roses in My Dreams

    by Margaret Kamikawa

The pieced quilt is my design that I've been teaching for

years. These fabrics give a shabby chic look to the quilt.

With the small roses on some the fabrics. it seemed so

right to design and add the appliqu roses. Machine

pieced. Hand and machine appliqud. Hand and machine

    quilted.

    Down By the Sea

    by Vivian Berger

Down by the sea, whether in Cape Cod or Hawaii, there is

a beauty and calmness that I wanted to infuse into a quilt.

    Blooming Bright

    by Carol Paschal

I love the look of black and white mixed with brights, so,

when I found the polka dot border fabric, that was the

combination that came to mind. The happy flowers bloom

on a fun black and white background. Machine pieced.

    Jade Twilight

    by Adele Byrd

I was looking for fabrics to make a wall quilt(s) that would

enhance my family room. I took the opportunity to add

beads for embellishments. This quilt will be displayed in

the family room and is the second of a group of two quilts.

    Robertson Rhapsody

    by Colleen Broaddus

After reading Ricky Tims' Rhapsody Quilts, I decided to

use some of the techniques in that book to design a quilt to

showcase the hand-dyed fabrics I had purchased from

Judy Robertson. I cut out the pieces for the project a

couple of years ago, but I didn't complete the quilt until I

acquired a sewing machine that could make a double

buttonhole stitch for the edges of the pieces. Machine

    pieced. Machine appliqud. Machine quilted.

    Squares and Leaves

    by Arlette Wentz

This project began as a protective covering for the back of

my husband Ron's new recliner chair. As it evolved and

became more decorated with embroidery, frequent

washing of this project was no longer an option. This

project became a wall hanging to hang beside Ron's chair,

not on it. A masculine look with a bit of flair is intended.
