Floor levelling

Strictly on the level: This is how it’s done!

Everything you need:

Flexible Self-levelling CompoundFlexible Self-levelling Compound can be used both indoors as well as outdoors to compensate for height differences and uneven floors. The self-levelling compound flows by itself. Once the compound is completely cured, tiles, thin natural stone paving, floor slabs, parquet flooring, fitted carpets and synthetic flooring can be laid on top of it. Also suitable for heating screed, wooden floors and critical substrates.

Yield: Approximately 1.4 kilograms are needed per 1 mm thickness for an area of 1 m². Packaging: 20 kg sack

Quick Self-levelling CompoundQuick Self-levelling Compound can be used indoors to compensate for height differences and uneven floors. The self-levelling compound flows by itself and cures rapidly. After curing, tiles, thin natural stone paving, floor slabs, parquet flooring, fitted carpets and synthetic flooring can be laid on top of it. Due to the fibre reinforcement, the quick self-levelling compound is notable for its good crack resistance, even in thicker layers.

Yield: Approximately 1.3 kilograms is needed per 1 mm thickness for an area of 1 m².

Packaging: 10 kg package, 20 kg sack

Bonding emulsionReady-to-use emulsion to improve adhesion, increase the elasticity and water blocking effect of cement-based mortar and to act as a bonding agent for subsequent coatings. Suitable for indoors and outdoors.

Yield: As a primer approx 0.2 l per m2.

Packaging: 1 ltr tub and 5 ltr pail

Probert’s tip:

Deflate the resulting air bubbles by brushing them with the broom.

As the entrance area has to be quicklyaccessible again, the choice of a fast-curing levelling compound is recommended.

Sweep the substrate thoroughly with a broom.

Provide edge strips all around the wall base. Then with the help of a tube level, aim to level the room and transfer the dimensions to the edge strip.

The difference in height of 2 cm is dealt with within the shortest possible time. And: The area is accessible again after only 3 hours!

Finally, cut off the protruding edge strips with a carpet knife. The very next day you can lay tiles.

To remove the linoleum, cut the old floor-ing into strips and tear off in strips from the substrate.

Wet the substrate thoroughly with a brush, as this help the adhesive bond.

Support the uniform flow with a rubber squeegee.

A room with an old linoleum floor is 2cm higher than an adjoining room. In order for this to be tiled throughout, the height difference needs to be compensated.

Mix up PROBAU Quick Self-levelling Compound and immediately spread on the substrate, starting from a corner.

Completely remove old glue residue from the substrate with a scraper.

More balance! Good to know: The substrate must be sound, clean, dry and in a crack-free condition. To improve the adhesion and elasticity of the following PROBAU Self-levelling Compound we recommend PROBAU Bonding Emulsion.
