What is a #flipclass?
•Lectures are recorded for students to watch outside of class.
•Students come to class to work on activities instead of taking notes.
•Key: Focus on student learning, not making videos.
![Page 7: Flipping the Classroom Presented by Tony Edwards](https://reader035.vdocuments.mx/reader035/viewer/2022070302/5482d702b4af9f74638b47e8/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)

"I don't want to be a video star!"
•Apprehension

•Alternatives: YouTube, SchoolTube, TeacherTube, Sophia, Vimeo, Educreations
![Page 12: Flipping the Classroom Presented by Tony Edwards](https://reader035.vdocuments.mx/reader035/viewer/2022070302/5482d702b4af9f74638b47e8/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
Providing effective feedback in Edmodo
•Be specific about what is incorrect in a student response, but don't give them the answer.
•Ask them a question or tell them what they need to correct so they can discover the correct answer for themselves.
•Google their responses to check for plagiarism.
![Page 13: Flipping the Classroom Presented by Tony Edwards](https://reader035.vdocuments.mx/reader035/viewer/2022070302/5482d702b4af9f74638b47e8/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
Using Edmodo in the #flipclass
•Post videos to Edmodo as assignments
•Ask open-ended questions for students to answer in response to the videos
•Add questions within video so students need to watch video to complete assignment
•Use an Edmodo poll or discussion to get feedback and check for understanding
![Page 14: Flipping the Classroom Presented by Tony Edwards](https://reader035.vdocuments.mx/reader035/viewer/2022070302/5482d702b4af9f74638b47e8/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Project-based learning with Edmodo

Reading and Writing in Science with Edmodo
•Post links to articles or websites for students to read
•Post open-ended questions for students to answer
•Determine how many sentences or paragraphs students are required to submit in their response

Science Fairs and Edmodo
•Create assignment for science fair on Edmodo with rubric and due dates
•Change due date in Edmodo as different parts become due
•One assignment retains all parts of project for each student
•If your students participate in Google Science Fair, have students post link to project when they turn in or comment on the assignment
