produce

tremendous

volume  of  writing

through  various

social  media

tools  such  as

blogs,  emails

and  other  social

media

environments.4

Evidence  has  shown  that  “Social  Network  Sites

provide  a  platform  for  the  youth  to  participate  in

communities  that  help  them  to  learn,  and  practice

skills  within  a  particular  knowledge  area.”4

Because  of  technology  “People  spend  far  more

time  consuming  new  information,  honing  verbal

concision,  and  Interacting  with  a  diverse  audience.”5

skills5

Research

 suggests  social  media  can

improve  verbal,

research,  and

critical  thinking

“Those  who  are  "high  media  multitaskers”

performed  better  when  working  with  the

distractions  of  email  and  music  than  when

focusing  on  a  single  activity.”6

Sites  with  a  character

count,  like  twitter,  are

particularly  beneficial

because  they  teach  users

to  be  economical  with

language.5

Online  engagement  technologies  like

phone  applications  for  older  adults  will

augment  their  quality  of  like,  making

them  more  physically,  mentally  and

socially  active7

Meanwhile  Grandparents  are  becoming  proficient  in

alien  things  like  Skype  and  Facebook  and  liking  it.  It  has

become  a  healthy  emotional  outlet  and  word  of  its

benefits  has  spread  like  wildfire  among  the  elderly8

A  Positive  correlation  has

been  found  between  social

media  use  and  increased

professional  development,

learning,  gifted  advocacy,

research  and  policy

making9

Today,   Social   Media   is   adopted

into  the  work  place  to  increase  the

ease   of   sharing   knowledge   and

tops   while   creating   contacts   to

network  internationall10

Social  Media  has  increased  our  awareness

of  the  fact  that-  that  in  order  to  succeed  we

must  know  how  to  persuade  and  intrigue

others  through  the  use  of  titles  and

headlines11

Social  Media

Technology

allows

individuals

and

organizations

to  create,

engage,  an

share  new

user-

generated

content  in

digital

environments

through

multi-way

“The  structure  of  social  media-the

skills  it  requires-  is  prompting  us  to

develop  valuable  leadership

strengths.”11
