MP3 Overview MP3isshortforMPEGAudioLayer3andreferstoanaudiocompressiontechnologystandard. ThisproductallowsplaybackofMP3filesonCD-ROM CD-R or CD-R�� discs.CD-R or CD-RW discs.CD-RorCD-RWdiscs. TheunitcanreadMP3fileswrittenintheformatcompliantwithISO9660.HoweveritdoesnotsupporttheMP3datawrittenbythemethod

ofpacketwrite. TheunitcannotreadanMP3filethathasafileextensionotherthan".mp3". Ifyouplayanon-MP3filethathasthe".mp3"extension,youmayhearsomenoise. Inthismanual,werefertowhatarecalled"MP3file"and"folder"inPCterminologyas"Track"and"Album",respectively. Maximumnumberofdirectorylevelis8,includingtherootdirectory.Maximumnumberoffilesandfoldersperdiscis256. Theunitmaynotplaytracksintheorderoftracknumbers. Installation ProceduresFirstcompletetheelectricalconnections,andthencheckthemforcorrectness.

ResetPresstheRESETbuttonwithapointedobjecttoresettheunittotheoriginalstatus.Note:PresstheRESETbuttonwillerasetheclocksetting andstoredstations.(Whenelectricalconnected)

Installation Opening

Thisunitcanbeinstalledinanydashboardhavinganopeningasshownabove.Thedashboardshouldbe4.75mm-5.56mmthickinordertobeabletosupporttheunit.

Important:Removethesetwoscrewsbeforeinstallation.Otherwise,theCD/MP3Playerwillnotwork.

1. Insert mounting collar into the dashboard, and bend the mounting tabs out with a screwdriver. Makesurethatlocklever isflushwith themountingcollar.(Notprojectingoutward) 2. Secure the rear of the unit. Afterfixingmountingboltandpowerconnector, fixtherearoftheunittothecarbodybyrubber cushion. 3. Insert trim plate.

Anti-Theft System

This unit is equipped with a detachable panel. Removing this panel makes the radio totally inoperable.

Place the detachable panel into case�.Switchoffthepoweroftheunit.2.Removethedetachablepanel.3.Gentlypressthebuttonofthecaseandopenthecover.Placethepanelintothecaseandtakeitwithyouwhenyouleavethecar.

Install detachable panel�.Fixrightpartoffaceplateintherightpartofpanelslotoftheunit.2.Pressdowntheleftsideofthefaceplateuntilitclicksintothepanelslotoftheunit.

Remove the unit switch off the power of the unit.�.Removethepanelandthetrimplate.2.InsertbothL-Keysintotheholeonthefrontofthesetuntiltheylock.3.Pullouttheunit.

Trouble shooting
