We are excited to once again be part of one of the top sources of Fleckvieh Fullblood cattle. 2016 has been a year of challenges in western Canada and as cattle markets start to come under a bit of pressure, opportunities arise to get more value from your dollars invested. I was once told by a very successful rancher to “build strength in genetics when markets are going down and reap rewards when they climb.” As you go through our sale offering you’ll see the emphasis we put on strength of cow families. Each of these females come from a maternal line that has worked for us and it is our greatest hope that a female purchase will work for you. We spend a vast amount of time searching for walking herd bulls to complement these cows. It’s tough to part with these bred females as we feel each of them has the potential to develop into donor quality cows. These females are bred to the $36,000 Sibelle Viking. No semen has been sold on this impressive herd bull. Females have been ultrasound in June, ivomec pour on, tasvac 8 and bovi-shield gold fp5 this fall and will be vaccinated with 2 shots of scour guard prior to the sale. We always enjoy working with the Transcon crew and thank them for their continued assistance in marketing our cattle. However, it just wouldn’t seem like an Equation sale without having a She Devil 12S daughter walk through the ring. Year after year, crossed with bull after bull, She Devil has special ones that rise to the top. Temptress will catch your eye with her massive barrel, depth of rib, coat color, feminine build through a refined front end and the right amount of bone. All traits that are reminiscent of her dam. We are extremely happy with the job the outcross herd sire, Brink Bulletproof, has done for us. His first set of sons averaged a very strong $11,130 on 10 head this spring and his daughters have all the traits to be very productive cows in the breed. Bulletproof is unfortunately gone, so progeny in the future will be limited to a few AI/embryo calves. This is a truly unique package.

This sweet made Magnum daughter is one for the top of your list. She is more moderately made than some of her pen mates but this female is one that we have extremely high expectations for. She is dark cherry red with a heavy hair coat, wide hind quarters and is setting up a great looking udder. She is very docile, has a moderate birth weight and is polled. Her dam is a maternal sister to She Devil out of the great donor cow, Eagle Ridge Patricia. Patricia is a tank of a cow that at 13 years of age still has an excellent udder, huge feet and shows no signs of slowing done. Her daughter, Atricia 225Z, dam to 543C, was always the star of the 2012 calf crop and has developed into one of our favorite cows. A special pedigree on a polled female with some of our best genetics. We will regret seeing Tricia leave but will eagerly watch her progress in the fortunate buyer’s program.

This is a female that has been admired right from birth. She was pastured in our display pen among the top heifer calves and remains a favorite in the bred heifer group. Mathilda is smooth made and shows a tremendous amount of thickness at every angle. On the maternal side of the pedigree you’ll find Tallahassee, a bull whose daughters have quickly risen up the ranks as some of our most produc-tive cows. Further back is the Arni 8M daughter, Lazy H Matilda, one of oldest cow on the farm, at 14 years old. Mathilda 555C’s sire Magnum, has been one of the most consistent herd bulls we’ve used. His sons are popular with the bull buyers and his young daughters already show the ability to pass his influence on. Every year his breeding group gets larger and he has the ability to put on condition through the season. He is the easiest fleshing bull in our herd sire battery.

BEE Fairy 596C is a powerfully constructed female with muscle definition, broodiness and size. She is the youngest of the group but quickly made up the age gap with a tremendous growth rate. When we choose sale heifers, we dig deep and bring out some of our top cow families. Fairy’s is no excep-tion. When we purchased Eagle-Ridge’s mature cow herd we were able to select 5 calves. Fairy’s granddam was at the top of our list and 67W hasn’t disappointed. She has raised high selling bulls to Wheatland Colony in 2015, Silver Lake Farms in 2016 and has a feature in this year’s bull pen. Fairy Tale 229Z is a replica of her dam with a strong udder, big feet and loads of capacity. All of our females are carrying a service to Sibelle Viking, the smooth made Walker son. He calved very well for us and his first set of calves are standouts in their respective groups.

Having unfortunately lost her sire Great Guns Tx Mac at a young age, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to gain this phenomenal daughter. A powerful female yet extremely feminine, she has not disappointed us at all having raised this heifer calf. With great eye appeal and style as her first calf, this proves to us that her future is bright. Danique has a lot of capacity and carries herself really well. 100% Full Fleckvieh. Caramel is as sweet as it comes. The planned mating of Legend to a Salton was a no brainer to try and produce a potential calving ease herd bull. With no disappointment, the mating resulted in this impressive female. Selling females is never a decision made lightly for us because we firmly believe they are the future of our herd. If you haven’t noticed, take a second to appreciate that 3 of 4 calves we are offering are from first calving females who have all done a fantastic job! This heifer has a huge square hip and skeletal structure of a big old brood cow in the making. With multi generations of solid cows behind her, she goes back to the old MFL 59E cow we were lucky to acquire at a ripe old age who left us with a few phenomenal daughters to build on who never miss. Just to verify our confidence in this cow line last year we retained Caramel’s genetic half sib as our junior herd sire and are anxiously awaiting his first calves this December. This girl is sure to follow the foot steps of her lineage.
