A third-generation steel fixer with 22 years of experience in the industry, Rod started Mack Steel Fixing in 2010 with the intention of creating a quality steel fixing company, which places safety and customer satisfaction as its core objective. Mack Steel Fixing employs teams of highly experienced and dedicated steel fixers who ensure all of their work, from footings through to the roof and suspended slabs are installed quickly and efficiently, whilst never compromising quality or safety. By maintaining a high level of communication between other subcontractors and the builder, Mack Steel foremen make sure their teams do their part to meet all project deadlines on time and on budget. Mack Steel Fixing is currently working on a number of large scale projects, including Stage 1 of The Unison Project. The Unison project is the third stage of Mirvac’s Waterfront Newstead project, located two kilometres from the Brisbane CBD. Mack Steel Fixing is utilising their warehouse facility by prefabricating vertical elements of the building structure offsite. These elements are then delivered to site by Mack Steel Fixing’s truck via a flatbed bolster system. This allows the site crane to lift the bolster as one unit loaded with numerous vertical elements in lieu of individually uploading each item. This system is advantageous for a number of reasons; it prevents the need of a dedicated prefabrication area on site providing more area on site for the builders; its time effective; it alleviates the requirement of platform ladders or mobile scaffolding when unloading from the truck, as the flatbed bolster is lifted to a safe working level; also it adds valuable points to the scorecard of the Green Star Rating system. The dedication and professional experience of the Mack Steel Fixing’s offsite team, ensures that the safety and quality of documentation systems comply with all the builders’ requirements prior site establishment. The entire Mack Steel team strives towards real partnerships and strong business relationships. This philosophy, along side their high quality workmanship, will allow Mack Steel Fixing to develop into one of Queensland’s leading and most reputable Steel Fixing Companies. Other past projects completed by Mack Steel Fixing include; K1 Commercial Tower, DJTP-JLU RAAF Base Amberley, Robina Shopping Centre Market Hall Stages 1 and 2, Springfield GE Headquarters, Bunnings Warehouse West Ipswich, Bunnings Warehouse Manly West, the Pindara Hospital Redevelopment and the Victoria Park Energex Substation.

Mack Steel Fixing is currently working on a number of large scale projects, including Stage 1 of The Unison Project. The Unison project is the third stage of Mirvac’s Waterfront Newstead project, located two kilometres from the Brisbane CBD. Mack Steel Fixing is utilising their warehouse facility by prefabricating vertical elements of the building structure offsite. These elements are then delivered to site by Mack Steel Fixing’s truck via a flatbed bolster system. This allows the site crane to lift the bolster as one unit loaded with numerous vertical elements in lieu of individually uploading each item. This system is advantageous for a number of reasons;

it prevents the need of a dedicated prefabrication area on site providing more area on site for the builders; its time effective; it alleviates the requirement of platform ladders or mobile scaffolding when unloading from the truck, as the flatbed bolster is lifted to a safe working level; also it adds valuable points to the scorecard of the Green Star Rating system.

The dedication and professional experience of the Mack Steel Fixing’s offsite team, ensures that the safety and quality of documentation systems comply with all the builders’ requirements prior site establishment. The entire Mack Steel team strives towards real partnerships and strong business relationships.
