I am very happy to invite you to visit our beautiful renewed Retreat House during 2017.

New Lands house has undergone major refurbishment work this year including new windows, roof, some remodelling of the rooms and improved facilities. We are sure you will be impressed by the improvements and changes.

We also hope you will enjoy our newly designed quiet room and library—a place you can use at any time for private reflection and study—when you want to withdraw from the company of others.

Our beautiful chapel will also be open, day and night, for private prayer (when not in use for Retreat sessions).

The house will be well staffed to ensure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable.

I know it is true to say White Eagle looks forward to welcoming you to his family home.

With love and warm welcome,

Jenny Dent, Lodge Mother

Five-Day Wisdom School Retreats at New LandsA retreat at New Lands offers you the opportunity to withdraw from the outer world with its pressures and claims—in order to spend a few days in a space which nourishes you both physically and spiritually; and in beautiful surroundings, including the world of nature: time in White Eagle’s home.

It is a special time to connect to your soul purpose through meditation—communion with the divine spirit within and with the higher worlds. All real learning and growth comes from what we find for ourselves in our own heart centre, and a Retreat encourages you to gently grow in your own way.

You also have the opportunity to be part of the further unfoldment of White Eagle’s Wisdom School—a school for the mind in the heart, rather than the outer intellect. We invite you to come and experience this for yourself.

Retreats also offer time for light-heartedness and companionship with like minded people. Indeed, friendships are often forged which last for years.

On all Retreats there will be times for meditation, workshop, discussion, spiritual practice, teaching, questions, fun and free space. At the end of the Retreat we hope participants will leave having opened up a wider channel between the earthly personality and the spiritual self, and feeling refreshed and at peace.

Arrivals for Retreats are on Saturday afternoon, with departures Thursday after breakfast. The food at New Lands is plentiful and vegetarian, with some organic produce. We have a welfare based dairy and egg policy approved by Compassion in World Farming. We can provide specially made vegan and gluten-free meals if requested beforehand.

The cost of a 5 day retreat is £375 including full board. Costs for other events are found on the relevant pages.Full board accommodation is £55 per day. £8 for each additional meal. B&B £40.Please see p 31 for details of Bursaries and the Ylana Fund.

Dear Members and Friends of White Eagle,

Well-Being Saturday July 8 to Thursday 13 (after breakfast) led by Jan deVulder. An opportunity to explore White Eagle’s guidance on recognizing and sustaining our own inner well-being; how to maintain peace of mind and happiness of heart. White Eagle’s philosophy of who we truly are and how to live gives us some answers to questions such as : What is the purpose of my life? Why does suffering exist? What happens after death? What are the effects of mindful breathing and a spiritual daily practice? There will be an opportunity to explore the power of thought and some current scientific understanding of vibrational effects of thought upon body, mind and soul.

The Creative Self as a Spiritual Path Saturday July 22 to Thursday 27 (after breakfast) led by Anna Hayward. White Eagle is clear that being creative is about plugging into and earthing the creative power of life, releasing a potential which can transform. Accessing parts of ourselves which lie beyond the rational mind, we become more sensitive and develop the imagination. The angels draw close. Creativity is not limited, it is not limited to a few, and it is not limited in its effects—it is. Neither is it about comparison, but importantly about each one’s uniqueness. As you create, you recreate yourself. In a relaxed and non-challenging way we explore a variety of creative paths.

The Messianic Mission of Jesus and its impact on our lives today Saturday October 7 to Thursday 12 (after breakfast) led by Astra

Ferro. White Eagle tells us that although all the great teachers have shown to men the life of the spirit, Jesus supremely revealed to humanity the Christ life in all its fullness. We will examine the life of Jesus, the great Christ Initiation and how through his total surrender he bathed the earth with the radiance of the Christ Light. We work with the Christ Light to bring us more understanding of how we can co-create with the Divine Will.

A Spiritual Perspective on a Challenging World Saturday November 18 to Thursday 23 (after breakfast) led by Simon Bentley (This retreat will run if there is sufficient demand. See July text for information).

Retreats Open to AllPlease note that the cost for each retreat except Christmas is £375

St John Saturday May 27 to Thursday June 1 (after breakfast) led by Colum Hayward. Colum has come to see St John in a new light after his studies of the Cathars. This Retreat is intended for all who would know more about John and his story, including the written works attributed to him (Gospel, Epistles and Revelation) and an introduction to how White Eagle interprets these. In this Retreat we shall also discover more about the whole mystical tradition and how St John is a part of this.

Be the Light Being you were born to be Saturday June 24 to Thursday 29 (after breakfast) led by Gay Robinson and Lyn Edwards (leaders of the work in Australia).White Eagle says: 'Every soul living on earth is in a physical body in order to build and create in due time that body of light which the ancient Brotherhoods called the solar body. The pow-er which commands the Light and creates man’s solar body is the power of love. When the body of light has been created in man/woman, the whole physical body becomes illumined, and thus a purer vehicle for the use of the soul.'During this Retreat we will have the opportunity to:• Build the Light into and strengthen our Seed Atom• Develop the solar body through meditation and God-Thought• Create an easier pathway of Light when we finally make our transition into the world of Light – we can do so in a body illumined with Light and Love.

A Spiritual Perspective on a Challenging World Saturday July 1 to Thursday 6 (after breakfast) led by Simon Bentley (also Saturday 18 – Thursday 23 November if there is sufficient demand)How can we cope more maturely and effectively with the restless and uncertain world we now seem to inhabit? This retreat aims to address that challenge and is open to all, whether or not they are familiar with White Eagle’s teaching.

The Mystical Path—The Dance of the Divine Spirit within us all. Saturday November 11 to Thursday16 led by Anna HaywardThe path of the mystic involves contemplation and stillness. On the 1st Wednesday in each month there is a Peace Meditation which takes place in the Temple. All are welcome.

Afternoon Workshop SeriesWhite Eagle, St John and the Holy Breath: A series of workshops and

an introductory talk, exploring White Eagle's deep empathy with St John's gospel and the mystical wisdom of the Holy Breath. Key texts will be White Eagle's LIVING WORD OF ST JOHN and Neil Douglas-Klotz's THE HIDDEN GOSPEL, which gives us a clue to the relation of St John’s teaching to the holy breath. Please note that there may be variation in the schedule according to how fast we progress.

The Story of St John: Sunday 26 February, 1.30 – 3.00 pm. A talk by Colum Hayward on the beloved disciple, St John, and why he seems so close in White Eagle’s teaching. It explains who St John was and the mystical tradition that arose around him – and how the symbol of the eagle came to symbolize ‘the ray of John’. The talk also introduces the set of four afternoon workshops in March and April (see following). The talk follows the Anniversary service and a 'bring and share' vegetarian lunch. Donations welcome.

Workshop SeriesSunday 12 March, 1.30 – 5.00 pm, with a 30-minute break. (1) Soul and Spirit; (2) Miracles. A look at chapters 1-4 of the Gospel, through White Eagle’s eyes and our own, beginning with the famous passage about the Word.

Sunday 19 March, 1.30 – 5.00 pm, with a 30-minute break. (3) Healing; (4) Blindness and Sight. We consider chapters 5-12 of the Gospel. They touch on the raising of those already dead and on the meaning of suffering.

Sanctuary above St John's cave, Patmos, Greece

Sunday 9 April, 1.30 – 5.00 pm, with a 30-minute break. (7) The Divine Essence; (8) The Rose upon the Cross. Appropriately for Palm Sunday, chapters 16-21 take us from the Garden of Gethsemane to the Resurrection and thus help us to understand White Eagle’s teaching about Easter. The charge for the St John workshops is £50 for the series, booked in advance, or £15 for individual afternoons.

Contact HealingThe basis of the Contact Healing training in the Lodge rests firmly on the foundation of Absent (distant) Healing for people. This service has been given since the Lodge was formed in 1936 and both forms of healing have provided support to a large number of people ever since. (Training and information about the Absent Healing work is given by the Absent Healing department.) The White Eagle Lodge requires that anyone interested in Contact Healing training becomes an Absent Healer for people first, either by becoming a sitter on a group or working as a Lone Healer for at least a year before applying to become a Contact Healer. If you are not an Absent Healer yet but are interested then please contact Melanie Dent at New Lands: [email protected] in the UK, or your local Star Centre in other countries.

******The three courses described below form the core of our Contact Healing Training Programme in the White Eagle method and, we believe, offer a well-grounded path of personal and professional training under the auspices of the White Eagle Wisdom School. Details of the full training programme, which has received formal accreditation by the national standard-setting body, UK Healers, are available from Jan de Vulder at New Lands: [email protected] The atmosphere on the courses is friendly and very supportive and the style of the White Eagle training is experiential rather than just theoretical. A network of Regional Mentors offers ongoing support to healers after the main training course, and includes support for final ‘registered’ status for those who wish. All courses can be retaken by existing healers free of charge. Please note that course fees are set at a level to support each healer’s ongoing training, and this year remain at what is effectively a nominal level. We do not wish any member to be excluded from this training for financial reasons, so please contact Jan, in confidence, if you wish to discuss course costs. We will do all we can to help.

Contact Healing Training Course I: Parts 1 and 2: Thursday pm March 30 to Wednesday April 5 (after breakfast).Contact healing can be a beautiful, fulfilling and effective form of service where there is a special inclination to give in this way.Course 1 is split into two parts comprising five days of training in all.

16 17

regular experience of offering contact healing. (It is not necessary to have completed Course II). The course provides greater understanding for the healer of the etheric body, the aura and chakras as taught by White Eagle. It is designed to expand the ways in which the healer can work with this awareness both for the patients and for their own deeper insight, which is part of our commitment to CPPD (Continuing Personal and Professional Development). The course will be experiential as far as possible in the use of the breath, meditation, visualisation, dealing with sensitivity and gaining control. Course fee for 3 days of training: £60. Full board accommodation £55 per day. £8 for each additional meal. B&B £40.

Ongoing Development and Support for Contact HealersIn line with our commitment as a member of UK Healers we ask all Contact Healers to view their training and development as ongoing. There is a supportive CPPD scheme for registered and non-registered Contact Healers at whatever stage of experience. Healers are asked to attend a support day either at the Temple, London Lodge or as organised by their own Regional Centre at least once every two years. This is part of a White Eagle Healer’s commitment to offer a high standard of service to the public.

Garden GangVolunteering days and weeks can be a time of rewarding experience, finding out how the Lodge’s wheels turn, satisfying practical achievement and making friends. It can also be a time of making a real spiritual contact—

ask those who have been part of it all! Accommodation and all meals are provided free in thankfulness for your service.Garden Gang: The ‘gang’ works on both routine jobs and specific projects. We have much work (and much enjoyment) in store for any volunteer who would like to lend a willing hand and heart in helping new projects unfold

and also maintaining the beauty of the Temple and New Lands gardens and grounds. Dates this year are all Fridays to Wednesdays: March 17-22, May 19-24 and September 29 – October 4. Please contact [email protected]

Training is given in the technique of Contact Healing developed under White Eagle’s guidance and conforms to the relevant parts of the national standards set by UK Healers. Some basic physiology is included. The course is fully experiential and some work is done in small groups to ensure individual support and respect for each person’s pace and method of learning. Principles of attunement, the nature of healing and healers’ code of healing and the law are also considered on the course. Because healers will eventually be working directly with members of the public, a letter of sponsorship from a White Eagle group leader or an experienced registered White Eagle healer will be requested. Please contact Jan de Vulder at New Lands if you are not sure about who will sponsor you, and for details of the full training programme for Contact Healing within the White Eagle Lodge.

Course fee (for five days with follow-up support) £95, including £12.50 for the Training Manual. Full board £55 per day. £8 for each additional meal. B&B £40.

Contact Healing Training Course II: Saturday pm August 5 to Wednesday August 9 (after breakfast). This course consists of three days and is open to White Eagle Contact Healers with at least four months’ regular experience. It enables the development of wider skills, which in turn help the patient receive the healing. Active participation using prior learning situations is the method of training used on all our courses and mentoring work. We practise with each other to develop helpful listening and communication skills and use case histories to gain greater confidence in the prescription of the healing colours. The course is especially helpful for those taking responsibility for healing patients on their own and those healers wishing to become registered. Other aspects of good practice are also covered, including confidential record keeping. Please write to Jan deVulder at New Lands for more details.Course fee for 3 days’ training: £60. Full board accommodation £55 per day. £8 for each additional meal. B&B £40.

Contact Healing Training Course III: Friday pm October 13 to Tuesday October 17 (after breakfast). This course consists of three days and is open to any White Eagle Contact Healer who has completed Course I and has at least four to six months’

'St Francis and His Link with White Eagle' Saturday October 7 in the Library 10.30 for 11.00 to 4.30 pm.

A Retreat day with Jenny Dent. The full title is ‘St Francis and his link with White Eagle and our Earth and Animal Healing work’. ‘Non-violence begins with me’ Saturday November 11 in the Library 10.30 for 11.00 to 4.30 pm. A Retreat day with Colum Hayward.

In a world riven by strife, our own response is hard to consider. How can we avoid playing into the conflict? Do we fight what we believe to be wrong, or can we model the good only? Where does principle begin and flexibility end?

Using White Eagle’s teaching, Colum’s retreat day explores what a loving attitude to life consists of and how we can make tiny changes in our self-attitude that make great changes in the larger sphere. Behind it all is the principle of making our light shine in the world.

Bring a packed lunch; other refreshments provided.

The New London LodgeEstablished in its new home the London Lodge is now stronger than ever and has a full programme of activities. It is open each Monday and Thursday and now occupies the beautiful Library at the Friends’ Meeting House in St Martin’s Lane, just off Trafalgar Square (actual address, 8 Hop Gardens, London WC2N 4EH).

We are proud of the atmosphere in our new home and the light shines through a glass skylight above, as it once did at St Mary Abbots Place. What we gain is real ease of access – as well as buses we have Leicester Square, Charing Cross and Embankment tube stations in easy walking distance, plus Charing Cross for mainline trains and even Waterloo. If you’re a visitor to London, combine us with a visit to the National Gallery or Covent Garden! We are truly in the heart of London — a bright and vibrant spiritual Grail Cup.

Activities include the special events listed below, Contact and Absent Healing services, meditations and meditation classes, a regular Thursday talk and discussion, evening events on a Thursday, and a ‘Little Service of Peace’ on a Saturday. White Eagle Center for the Americas – Saint John’s Retreat Center

A very warm welcome awaits all who visit the Lodge in Texas, Saint John’s Retreat Center. The Center rests on 70 acres of beautiful forested land about 65 miles north of the center of Houston. The gentle land is home to many species of wildlife and in the springtime especially, it is full of wildflowers. There are five climates in the state of Texas, and our East Texas climate is humid sub-tropical; its milder temperatures are from early October until May.

The Center has room for 20 guests; each of the ten twin-bedded rooms has its own en suite bathroom. The large dining room serves all who come with delicious vegetarian food, prepared to perfection by David.

A chapel with stained glass windows which came from the original place of worship on the land is next to a delightful library full of fascinating books and a cozy fireplace around which to gather in fall and winter.

The porch overlooks a magnificent view of the meadow and forest beyond, close to the small salt water pool with Jacuzzi jets which invites a dip and viewpoint of the glorious night skies. Along the grassy paths are places for

quiet meditation and set into the land is a large seven fold spiral labyrinth with a central fire pit; a gathering place for group meditations or for a quiet meditative walk. For smaller self catering groups, Meadowview Cottage is available, a mobile home set in a secluded part of the land and which backs onto the Wolf Sanctuary next door. Here you may be serenaded by the song of evening ‘howls’. The wolf sanctuary is now independently run, but visits while staying at the Lodge can always be arranged. Grandmother Jean still enjoys a ‘wolf fix’ as often as she can.

Jane Sorbi, Mother of the Americas Lodge, along with the small but very dedicated staff much looks forward to welcoming you to their home 'deep in the heart of Texas'! Visitors are welcome for retreats or private visits. Full details of all activities including costs are found on the website: http://whiteaglelodge.org/retreats/ or please contact P.O. Box 930, Montgomery, Texas 77356. U.S.A. Tel: 001 936-597-5757, Email: [email protected]

‘Blessing of Mother Earth’: January 4 - 6. This workshop involves a coming together on 12th night to bless and give back to Mother Earth. Using the Three Kings Biodynamic preparation we join together in a simple Ceremony of Blessing for Mother Earth.

‘Finding the Still Point of Peace for Transformation’: February 9 - 12, with Jane Sorbi and staff. Transformation comes to us through all levels. In the course of this retreat we will seek to recognize through music and quiet meditation in nature, the true essence of our being. We will look at the physical, emotional and mental responses that tie us to the illusions of earth. Through this understanding of non-attachment and releasing, life can be transformed; order and harmony may be restored.

‘Healing the Earth’: March 9 – 13 The Earth is our Mother, we must take care of her” – This quote from a beautiful Native American chant. In this retreat we will center on how we may best serve our Earth Mother. We will learn how to work with the angelic and nature kingdoms to care for her, receive tips from a Master Gardener on how to create our own organic garden, visit an organic farm, observe the gifts of nature walking and observing the land.

26 27

‘Animals as Soul Makers’: April 21 - 26 Looking at animals and their place in the evolution of the Life Force from a spiritual viewpoint and how this relates to the evolution of the kingdoms of nature and to the human kingdom in particular. We will draw upon various spiritual teachings and in particular our own White Eagle.

'Re-creating Your Life: Inside and Out': May 26-31 At the time of the new moon we look at our individual Earth Walk. Are there changes we wish to make in that Walk? We will look at the avenues through which we may pursue these changes with the gentle guidance and advise of our teacher. Learning how to be still and listen and all things may be made new.

'The Great Mother': September 29-October 4 From White Eagle: 'Now that we have stepped across the border between the two Cycles, Pisces and Aquarius, you will see more and more how the power of this mother-aspect sways the progress of the world... for this world is crying – for Love, the divine Mother Love. ... the restoration to mankind of sanity, clear vision and commonsense by the wisdom of the divine Mother.' We come to understand and to work together on this land, particularly at the grove dedicated to the Great Mother.

25th Anniversary Celebration of the Temple of the Golden Rose October 20 - 26 There is limited space, so those that register first with a $200 deposit will have a confirmed reservation.

A Visit to our Australasian Centre by Jenny Dent.

As you probably know, in 2015 I had the great joy of visiting our Australian Temple to take part in the 25th Anniversary Celebrations.

If you have not yet had the opportunity to visit our beautiful Temple in Australia, and hope to travel to this wonderful continent one day, do try to include a trip to Maleny as part of your planned itinerary. Maleny is itself a really picturesque town and is set in the most amazing location, just near the Glass House Mountains. It is within easy reach of the Sunshine Coast and near many interesting tourist attractions.

Our Temple is located a little way out of Maleny, in absolutely stunning countryside. Although I have visited several times before, I was amazed again at how beautiful it all is, and the wonderful guidance that led Doris and Alf (with their daughters Gay and Lyn) to this lovely place. They named it Willomee after Minesta’s home in the Andes in her life when White Eagle was the Mayan Chief Hah-wah-tah, (as recounted in the book The Illumined Ones, now renamed White Eagle on Reincarnation). It is truly a spiritually and physically blessed place and lives up to its name.

The Temple nestles down in its own little hilltop resting place, so you do not see it standing up on the top of the hill as you do with our New Lands Temple. The old residents of Maleny remember the aborigines trekking up the valley to feast on the bunya nuts which grew on the site of the Temple. This peaceful tribe imbued the land with their essence which can still be felt as you walk the gardens of the Temple.

28 29

As you approach the Temple you will notice the stunning winged disc. One of the things I love about the Temple when you go inside – such a pure clear wonderful energy – is that it has windows around the perimeter of the domed roof, and looking through these you can see the trees and the sky and very often the sun shining through, lighting up the interior, and really bringing a feeling of all the elements being part of the work of the Temple. It is also surrounded by birds, so bird song is a particular feature of being there in the Temple.

I know you will have a wonderful welcome and memorable Retreat. But even if you can only come as a day visitor, you can be sure it will be a very special time. As well as sitting in the peace of the Temple itself, it is also an unforgettable experience to sit on the terrace outside the spacious meeting room, looking at the glorious view down ‘the Willomee Valley’. Then there are the bedrooms (if you are able to stay!), so beautifully individually furnished. You really will have a good time!
