PAGEANT NURSERY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

I am coordinating child care for parents in the Easter Pageant who have small children. I want the parents to know that their children will be cared for while they are upstairs. We know the rehearsals can be taxing on children and they get tired too, so I want to have enough workers to give them the little extra attention they might need as it gets close to bedtime. If you can only help 1 or 2 sessions that will be greatly appreciated.  Rehearsal will be Sunday evenings starting in March. I am hoping to get enough volunteers that it will be a rotating basis. I am expecting 5-7 children and a couple of them are under age 1.  If you are willing to help out with the pageant in this area, please contact me by e-mail at Jeffriesauctioneer@ktis.net or call me at 573.356.4738.

PAGEANT WORKDAYSWe will be having set building days on March 22 and on March 29.  In addition to building the set, we will be getting all the props ready and maybe bringing the costumes over, so there is quite a bit to get done.  We need to have all of the sets and props ready by March 30 for a full tech rehearsal.Thank you again.

“White Wedding Dress”The WMU Murphy Circle invites the ladies of the church to join them on Saturday, March 15th from 1-3pm in the Fellowship Hall to take a fascinating trip back into the history of clothing and fashion featuring the “White Wedding Dress” from a Christian prospective. Carolyn Miller owner of Nostalgia Vintage Apparel in Sedalia, Mo will be the presenter.

Each decade showcases a bride, groom, bridesmaid a shoes starting in the 1800s. She gives many programs during the year but the Victorian wedding is the highlight in her programs. She shows and explains each item worn at the wedding and its meaning.

Carolyn feels it is important to her when putting a programs together that it is not only about the fashion, but about the clothes and how they tie in with society and what was going on at the time. She says fashion is very much what life is like.

She is lively, knowledgeable, entertaining and ties her Christian faith into each program. Save the date and come for an enjoyable afternoon of fun and fellowship.

Mission Trip to Oklahoma

A small team of youth are going to take a trip

over spring break to Southwest Oklahoma. Greg and Chrystal Gault are leading the youth of their church in Elgin, Oklahoma and have invited us down to have a series of evangelistic meetings to reach out to the youth of their area.

We will provide a youth worship team for the Sunday through Wednesday events and Greg and Martin will be taking turns doing the speaking.

We also hope to be able to do some service related projects while we are there. We will be making the 1,000 mile round trip March 22 till March 27th.

Building Team

We have a floor plan decided on and are scheduling the asbestos abatement for the second floor remodel/ new nursery area. Once the abatement is done we will be able to do our final demolition and have the new windows installed. Once that is done, we will be able to start the construction.

Dear FBC Church Family,

The Swiney Family would like to thank our FBC Family for all their thoughts and prayers over the past days and months during the loss of our mother, Beulah Swiney. We are grateful to be part of such a caring church family. The flowers delivered to us by Pat O’Rourke were beautiful. We are also thankful for the gift in honor of mother to the Grand Oak Baptist Mission.

Thank you so much for the beautiful flowers that Pat O’Rourke brought to my house in honor of my dad’s life. I appreciated all the cards and prayers for my family. My parents were married 63 years. I am so thankful for the wonderful father that I had.
