CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE

Executive Meeting - Monday, December 5th at 7:00 p.m. in the Fr. Gignac Room

General Meeting - Monday, December 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Centre. We will have our Christmas Potluck Sup-per so bring your favourite dish and enjoy the evening. At this meeting the names of nominees will be posted and mem-bers will vote for the new executive for 2017. Donations of socks, scarves, underwear and toiletries will be gratefully accepted in aid of the downtown Oshawa Refuge Centre.

Due to the power failure on November 14th, our General Meeting was cancelled. A bouquet of red roses was placed at the altar in memory of the deceased members of our Catholic Women's League council.

Our Olde Tyme Christmas Bazaar was a great success! Thanks to our Convenor Ingrid Nekkers, Josephine Borg and her cooks who provided a delicious lunch, all workers who sorted and staffed the tables, and so many people who donat-ed baking and many other wonderful and interesting items. Much appreciation also to the school children and their teachers who set a festive mood with their singing, and to all the people who came to buy and support our endeavor.

SENIOR’S GROUP:

The seniors activities take place every Wednesday from 2 - 4 p.m. Come on out and socialize, play cards.

Saint Vincent de Paul Annual Toy Drive

The toy drive and Angel tree will start on November 26th until December 18th

New unwrapped toys can be left at all masses, or you can take a tag with a gift suggestion from the

Angel tree. Monetary donations of $10.00 or more will receive a tax receipt.

There will not be coffee / cookies after the Sunday 9:00 a.m. Mass starting on Sunday, December 18th. It

will resume on Sunday, January 8th. Thank you!

ST. JOSEPH’S CHOIR

Attention Grade 12 graduates of Msgr. Paul Dwyer Catholic High School!!

If you are interested in applying for a scholarship either from the Knights of Columbus or the Catholic Women’s League, kindly address a one page letter to the Grand Knight (Norm Lambert) or the President of the CWL (Pat Gilray) and submit it to the Parish Secretary. In this letter, please state whether you are planning to attend college or university, your report card average and if you are involved in any extra curricular activities, in what capacity and for how long. These letters are due no later than January 29th.
