Tips to Prepare for your Boudoir Session Be On Time:

Please do not be late. We are tightly scheduled! Tardiness will affect the length of your session. Please leave in plenty of time to allow for traffic problems and other issues that may occur. We will not be able to replace the minutes lost in your session due to tardiness because we have clients whose sessions are scheduled following your session. If you arrive before your scheduled time, please wait in the downstairs building lobby prior to coming up to the studio. The building management company is very strict and does not allow any visitors to the building to wait or stand around in the hallways. Your session will automatically be cancelled if you are more than 10 minutes late and no refunds will be given.

Products: We offer a variety of packages and albums to purchase with your boudoir session. Your product will be selected and paid on the day of your session and before your session starts. We accept cash and Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards only. Selecting your product ahead of time, allows the photographer to photograph your session correctly based on the product you purchased. A list of our pricing can be found here http://bit.ly/2m2APPg You will be able to see, explore and touch all the products we offer. Your product must be paid for prior to your session being photographed, or you must pay the minimum payment of the payment plan. Any declined credit cards or not available funds for payment will result in your session being cancelled and no refunds to deposits or session fees will be given. Call you credit card company the morning of your session before you come in and let them know you will be making a purchase from The Boudoir Beauty so your transaction is approved. This will avoid taking precious time away from your photo shoot if you have to call and be put on hold for an indefinite amount of time with your credit card company.

Page 7: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Savings Plans and Payment Plans: We offer 3 alternative payment plan options. As stated above, Your product must be paid on the day of your session and prior to the session being photographed, or you must pay the minimum payment of the payment plan. Any declined credit cards or not available funds for payment will result in your session being cancelled and no refunds to deposits or session fees will be given. 1. Boudie Bank Savings: The Boudie Bank is an amazing & Interest Free way to save for your boudoir products in a way that doesn’t break the bank all at once! Makeup and Hair: Approximately 30 -60 minutes is spent on makeup. Our makeup artist will apply camera-ready makeup for your shoot, which is heavier than most clients normally wear, but the purpose of it is to smooth out the skin and minimize and fine lines, wrinkles or blemishes. Most clients want to upgrade (must purchase in advance) to the Deluxe Make Up Package based on their desired look or skin condition. https://bit.ly/3c5HOiQ Be sure to arrive with a makeup free face. Removing pre-existing makeup will make your face red and blotchy, so do not wear any makeup prior to coming. Our Makeup Artist has a full kit and uses her own products that we know look great on camera. If you have any allergies, you need to disclose them prior to coming in for your session and provide an alternative product of your own. The false eyelashes are provided. Lashes are highly recommended for your shoot. Lashes make your eyes pop and look so sexy! Basic Makeup Package: Our basic package comes with your Groupon session, which is a natural daily look that includes foundation, one color eyeshadow, blush, mascara and lipstick. You can add on false lashes for an additional charge, which we highly recommend. Add lashes here: https://bit.ly/3tfu3qg Deluxe Makeup Package Available: If you would like to upgrade to our deluxe makeup package, you may do so for an additional charge. You must do this in advance so we can pre pay and book the extra time for the makeup artist. Please call the studio to request this right away. It must be scheduled and prepaid in advance. Deluxe makeup will include multi shades of eyeshadow for a more dramatic and sexy look, such as a smoky eye, more dramatic eyeliner, concealer under eyes (hides dark circles or fine lines and wrinkles), face contouring and lashes. Face contouring helps snatch and sculpt cheekbones, jawlines and slims the face. You can pay for this deluxe upgrade through this link https://bit.ly/3c5HOiQ Hair Touch Ups/Styling(optional add on): After your makeup is complete, if added to your package, we will spend the remaining time styling your hair. Keep in mind that we are not a licensed cosmetology hair salon, so we can make only touch ups to your current hairstyle. Come with clean, product free hair already in the style you would like for your shoot. We will touch up and add volume to your current hairstyle. When we touch up your hair, any hairspray or product you put in your hair before you arrived will burn and stick, so refrain from putting product in your hair prior to coming.

Page 9: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Tipping: We are asked all the time about tipping, so we thought we would just address it directly. We do allow tipping to the makeup artist and photographer. It is always appreciated as the services you receive on your session date have been discounted through Groupon almost 85% in price, but not in quality. If you need to add a tip to your product invoice, just let us know. We will make sure they receive your generosity.

Set Selection: You will have a brief wardrobe consultation to make sure the sets you picked go best with your outfits. Prior to your session date, you will need to select the sets you want prior to coming in and list them on the photographer questionnaire. We highly recommend doing a bedroom set and a sofa set with each session, but it is really personal preference. All of your sets were designed/created to match every color of outfit and style.

Outfits: You can be photographed in up to 3 outfits that you bring in. Most clients select 2 and sometimes 3. Keep in mind that your total session time is the amount of time you have with the photographer and this includes shooting time, production (sets) set up and wardrobe changes. If you select 2 outfits, you will have more time on each set and will have more of a normal paced session. If you pick 3 outfits, you will have to change 3 times and your time on the 3 sets will be less. A 3 set session moves very quickly and is very fast paced. Please keep in mind that you will need to change quickly between outfits so you maximize your session with more shooting time versus changing time. Your photographer will help you fasten garments, lace your corset and attach your garters.

Please see our Suggested Lingerie section for ideas on what to bring in for your shoot.

Page 10: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Body and Skin Preparation: Wear loose clothing to your session so it does not leave any marks on your skin. Tanning: We do not recommend any tanning at least a week before your session. The camera will pick up an orange tint on your skin after a recent tan. After tanning, you may have tan lines, will have a whiter bum if you had a bathing suit on or have white lines under your bum from a tan. We will not edit this in post-production, as it is how you came in and what the camera captured. Spray tanning: We do not recommend spray tanning at all! The camera will pick up an uneven and patchy orange tint from a Spray tan regardless if it is done at a professional salon or if you do it at home. Spray tans never go on evenly and make your skin appear patchy and uneven. This shows up more dramatically than the naked eye can see as we use very high-powered lights. Your palms of your hands and feet are lighter or darker in color and elbows and knees are darker in color from a spray tan. This very noticeable and looks awful!!! Orange and uneven skin tones are not the look you want for your photos. We do not correct for any of these in our editing, so do so at your own risk. Our lights are bright and high-powered. Spray tans smell awful when your skin is warm from our lighting and creates a very unpleasant environment for all in the studio. Grooming: We suggest the following prior to your session: hair touch-ups, groom eyebrows, get a manicure and pedicure.

Body Hair: Wax, trim or shave any body hair that you do not want showing in your images, especially in your bikini area, legs, armpits and on any private areas. Don’t forget the area between your girly area and rear end.

Blemishes: Do not apply any makeup to your skin to cover blemishes, or insect bites. Do not worry if a pimple is present on your face or back. It is perfectly normal! If you do have a white head, go ahead and pop it. We don’t want the pimple to burst during the shoot and ruin your makeup application. Our makeup artist will conceal it and we can fix it in our editing process. We will edit blemishes or insect bites, so don’t worry if you have a break out on your face, back or chest.

Page 11: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Tattoos: Do not apply any makeup to hide any tattoos. We do not want any makeup staining our furniture or linens. Clients will be responsible for any cleaning or damage if this happens. We do not edit out tattoos with our normal editing that comes with your shoot. If you would like tattoo removal, we can do this for an extra charge per photo. Moisturizing Skin: Apply moisturizer to your body the day before your session only. Do not moisturize the morning of your session. Lotions tend to be reflective with our lights. This will cause you to have white spots on your skin when the light hits it.

Chaperones: Chaperones Male or Female: We understand you may be nervous prior to your session. Most of our clients have never done a boudoir session before. Our policy is that only clients with a scheduled session are able to come into the studio. We are here for you. We will help and support you the entire way!! We will put you at ease and coach you through the poses. We will even show you the facial expressions to make and wear to place your hands.

If you have a girlfriend come with you, she will need to run an errand after she drops you off. Only clients that are being photographed that day are able to come into the studio, no exceptions to this rule, so please don’t ask if they can. We’ve got you. We will support you and help you with your wardrobe etc. Please be advised that we do not allow male chaperones in the studio under any circumstance. This policy is designed for the comfort level of all our female clients and for the safety and security of our clients and our all-female staff. Thank you for your understanding.

The Night Before Your Session: Please make sure you get plenty of rest before your session. Make sure on the day before and night before your session you are drinking plenty of water. This will hydrate your skin. Pack your bag the night before your session and put it in the car ahead of time. You do not want to rush around the morning of your session and forget to pack your stockings or worse your panties (yes this happens all the time )

Page 12: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Shopping Guide What to Shop For: We do not provide outfits for your session. You must bring in your own clothing, jewelry, panties, & shoes. We do offer outfits that you can rent, shoes you can rent and stockings you can purchase.

Suggested lingerie :

Corset: We recommend wearing a corset for all body types, including plus size. Corsets give a nice curvy shape. Black and dark color corsets tend to slenderize your shape, accentuate your curves and breasts. Other colors we like are red, green, grey, blues, or purples. Make sure you select one that fits properly in the breast area. If you want additional cleavage and lift, purchase inserts that will lift and press your breasts together. A corset with the correct fit will support your breasts and have no gaps. You will fill the entire top. We like corsets that have garters attached for sexy lace top stockings. *Corsets are perfect for women that want more coverage in their mid or tummy section.

Page 13: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Chemise, Body Suit or Baby Doll:

Chemises are also a favorite because they look similar to a corset but have a bra like top and have the sexy garters attached. They look great on most body types. They are perfect for clients that want to show off their breasts so select a style that has an underwire and is padded to give more support and a lift. Pick a style that has a deep v plunge to expose your breasts more but still gives you padding and underwire to give you the most lift and support. Chemises do not offer as much tummy support as a corset, but they still cover the tummy or waist areas and also give the padded support in your breast area. If your tummy is an area of concern, choose darker colors. All of the examples below have an underwire and are padded. Notice picture 1, this would be great for someone wanting to show her tummy since the fabric is see through, but not for someone that does not. Pictures 2 and 3 would be better for someone wanting to conceal the tummy area because the fabric and lace are not sheer. Both still show curves of their figures which looks amazing, but the area of concern is not showing.

Page 14: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Baby dolls are like a chemise in the bra top but have a flowing or open front. The open front is great for women that want to show off their tummy and mid-section. A closed skirt is great for women that want to minimize hip and tummy areas, but make sure you pick one that accentuates your breast. If you want to accentuate your breasts, you must pick a style that has an underwire with padding to push your breast together, lift and has a halter or low deep v cut style. Without a halter or push up area, they offer no support. Pictures 2 and 3 all have an underwire but picture 2 has an underwire and padding to give maximum lift. If you are a client concerned with showing the tummy area, go with closed more opaque fabric version like in picture 1 and 4 or just select a chemise or a second corset. Notice picture 1 and 4 have sheer lace but no nipples are showing due to the petal covers.

Page 15: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Body Suits are a favorite of ours! They look great for all body styles. Look for lace styles, deep plunges in the breast area, halter style with open areas around the breasts or the banded styles. Body suits look so sexy and give you extra coverage in the mid-section if you need it. If the lace you select is see through/sheer, you will need to purchase Petal Covers that will conceal your nipples and a heavier lace pattern or panel in the crotch area to conceal your pubic area. Keep in mind that body suits do not have an underwired to offer support in the breast area, so pick one that has a deep plunge and v-cut.

Page 16: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Bra and Panty Set: A bra and panty set is perfect for women that want to show off their breasts, tummy and mid-section. To accentuate your breasts, make sure you select a bra that is deep plunged, has an underwire and is padded so that your breast are lifted and pushed together. If you are uncomfortable with your tummy showing, avoid a bra and panty set. There is no way to conceal this area with this wardrobe selection, so pick a corset or chemise. When picking a panty, please stay away from panties with a G-string or thong if you are concerned with adding weight to your hips, flanks and bottom area. (See the panty section below for the panties we recommend and for an explanation) We suggest outfits with dark or bright, vivid colors like purple, red, blue, green, turquoise, black, and white.

Page 17: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Teddies, Gowns with spaghetti straps or Rompers: We do not recommend this style at all. These styles do not offer any accentuated curves or breast support. They actually make your breasts fall down or to the sides and make them look flat due to the lack of support. This style of outfit is very boxy looking and does not accentuate the curves at all. You can see in the pictures below that all 4 model’s breasts appear flat and not round, voluptuous or lifted. You can’t see the cleavage line down the middle and between the breasts or the roundness of the breasts. These outfits do have a V-neck but the end of the V is not deeply plunged to show cleavage liked we recommend. The cleavage line cannot be seen. The V is doing nothing to show off the roundness or shape of the breasts. The straight cut baggy fabric creates no curves or shows them off in her waist and hips. These styles are doing the opposite of what you want and are hiding her curves/shape and are making the breasts look smaller and flat. Poor outfit choices:

Page 18: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Poor choice of fit: Your outfit could have all the things we talked about but may not fit you correctly or be accentuating the areas you want to feature. The picture below is a perfect example of this. The chemise or body suit style does have a bra top and has a thicker lace control panel to smooth the stomach area. Notice at the arrow that it fails in showing any cleavage line down the middle of her breasts or roundness/fullness in and at the top of her breasts. Her breasts are not lifted and round at the tops. You can see she does have cleavage by the circle we placed, however the roundness is at the bottom of her breast because the outfit makes the top of her breasts look flat. We want to see the roundness at the top like in the example pictures mentioned prior.

Page 19: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Check Your Outfit: We cannot stress how important outfit choice is. If you want to show off your breasts, look in the mirror with your outfit on. Ask yourself, can I see cleavage (either the cleavage line between your breasts with a deep plunge) and fullness at the top of my breast (are they lifted up enough that I have fullness showing at the top and have them spilling out and are not being covered with fabric) with my outfit on? If you don’t see it, the camera won’t either. Look for gaps in the cups of your bra, corset or chemise. If you are not filling up the cup or breast area entirely, the outfit does not fit you correctly. Good examples: You can see a definite cleavage line in both outfits and breasts are full at the top so the camera can capture this.

Page 20: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Poor outfit choice: This is poor choice for someone wanting to show off their breast or curves in their body. If you look at the top of her breasts in this outfit, they look flat and smaller and you can’t see cleavage!! She does have larger breasts than what is showing. Look at the area on the sides and of her lower breast. She is quite voluptuous, but the camera would never see this due to the outfit selection because the material is concealing these areas. See photo and arrows for more explanations.

Page 21: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Cleavage helpers: You may want to purchase enhancement cups to lift and push your breasts together or up or to better help you fill your bra or outfit cup. They sell these enhancements on Amazon and often at department stores in the lingerie section. Picture 1 and 2 below push your breast together and you can see the cleavage line and fullness at the top. Picture 3 are inserts that go under your breast to lift them up or help fill in your cup if you have a slight gap.

If you are concerned about your stomach, hips, thighs or any other area take a look at this area in the mirror with your outfit on. Ask yourself, “Can I see the area that I don’t want to focus on with the outfit I have on”? If you can see it, so can the camera. We know this sounds obvious, but clients still can make a bad outfit choice. An example of this is when a client says they do not want to show their stomach and they bring in a bra and panty set or a chemise or baby doll that has sheer/see through material in this area. This outfit choice will show the exact area they ask us not to focus on.

Page 22: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Lace Boy Shorts or Cheeky Panties: Below are our favorite panties we recommend you wear under and with any outfit, corset, or with any bra and panty set. The exposed cheeks make you but look lifted and also will minimize any hip or saddle bag areas. They photograph really well and look super sexy. If you get a lingerie set that includes a matching G-string or thong, we caution you and recommend you purchase a matching pair of lacy boy shorts or cheekies. G-strings and thongs are sexy in everyday life, but do not photograph well and add extra pounds. A G-string or thong has less fabric and will not give the illusion of a lift. They accentuate and expose hips or saddle bag areas

Remove tags from outfits: Please make sure to cut out all size tags out of the back of your panties and outfits prior to arriving at the studio.

Page 23: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Garter stockings: Nothing is sexier than a garter belt and stockings. DO NOT buy the thigh highs with silicon at the top. They are taller in length and will bunch up and roll down your legs creating a muffin top bulge on your thighs…eeek!! They also are very difficult to wear with garters. Buy a garter belt and get the stocking that are made for garters and do not have silicon. We love the ones that have a lace top or lace top with fishnets. We have the non-silicone stockings for sale in regular and plus size in our boutique if you can’t find them. Please call to reserve your pair. You will pay for them at your session time. Themed outfit: Your husband, boyfriend, or partner's work or business shirt, military gear, officer’s jacket or favorite sports jersey makes a perfect choice! We love to work with props! We do not allow any firearms or props that are sexual in nature or that will make our staff uncomfortable. Please ask before bringing in your props. Outfit and Shoe Rental: We do have a dressing room with outfits you may rent on the day of your session. The cost per outfit rental is $35 and shoe rentals are $10 per pair. We must bring your own panties to wear underneath the outfit and we suggest black, white or nude. We do recommend that you bring in your own outfits as backups. We cannot guarantee that our outfits will fit every body style properly or that you will like the selections we have to offer. Most of the sizes we have are one-size fits all and we do offer some plus sizes. Shoes: All outfits photograph better with shoes, the higher the heel the better! We recommend purchasing 3-5 inch pair. Don’t worry if you are not used to this height. You will not walk in them much the day of your shoot. They photograph really well! Make sure the bottom of the shoes are not scuffed or dirty, as it will show in your pictures and this will not be edited. Bring in a pair of shoes for each outfit. We do have shoes you can rent in sizes 7-10. Our rental fee is $10 per pair.

Page 24: First Steps to Take Before Your Boudoir Session

Private Reveal of Your Photos:

You will not view your photos the day of the photo shoot. They will be ready on a later date when they have been edited. On the day of your session, the photographer can give you an estimated period of when your images will be ready. This time frame will only be an estimate of time. We process all images in the order the sessions were taken. Time frames will vary based on work to be done in the clients files prior to yours, the volume of the studio, unforeseen weather conditions and our vendors’ volumes. Staff illnesses, inclement weather (thunder or lightning storms, flooding etc.), holidays and unforeseen delays will extend this time frame. You will view your photos on a password protected online gallery when they are ready from the privacy of your own home.

Receiving of Albums and other products: All albums purchased are custom created by our vendors. Vendor time frames can vary and cannot be guaranteed. Vendors will vary from up to 3 weeks to 10 weeks to complete. If you are in a hurry to get your finished product, ask us about Rush or expedited shipping fees. We do offer rush editing fees and expedited shipping as well. Please feel free to call or email us with any questions! Get Ready to Reveal Your Own Beauty™.
