PRAYER FOCUS FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH COOKSTOWN: Continue to pray that someone would be called to lead in our praise and music ministry. PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN IRELAND PRAYERLINE: (edited) For full versions, visit: www.presbyterianireland.org Home: The Moderator: Rt Revd Dr Ian McNie: speaking this morning at Abbey Monkstown’s 50th anniversary service; and this evening attending Omagh Presbytery’s PW Rally. Howth and Malahide Presbyterian Church, Dublin – Rev Alastair Dunlop: Over the last few weeks there were 17 different nationalities represented in the congregation, bearing witness to the unity that is only found in the gospel. Give thanks too for the recent visit and ministry of Isaac Shaw, National Director of Delhi Bible Institute, that a fruitful partnership might develop. Pray for the Holy Spirit to grant faith and repentance to the many thousands of people around them, for new gospel churches to be planted, and for the spiritual landscape of Ireland to radically change. Tullamore and Mountmellick Presbyterian Churches, Co Offaly – Rev William Hayes: Give thanks for the work of the International Welcome Centre, especially for work amongst the Afghan refugees. Pray for the growth of local leadership within the Tullamore congregation and that the many outreach activities of this small congregation will produce fruit. Overseas: South Sudan: Rev John Yor Nyiker, General Secretary, Presbyterian Church in South Sudan reports, that people are dying daily because of the continued conflict. Ordinary people across the nation, including in the capital Juba, are suffering from a lack of food / high food prices forcing many to turn to the UN camps for assistance. Thousands of people are also fleeing from the northern parts of the country to Sudan because of hunger and the continued fighting. He says, “South Sudan is going to disappear if the United Nations cannot rescue it.” Christian Aid and Tearfund are currently working through their local partners to respond to humanitarian needs in South Sudan.
