RULES & REGULATIONS:

1. The MTN Race will be held under the rules of Athletics South Africa and Central Gauteng Athletics.2. Entrants participate at their own risk.3. One-lap course.4. Water points every 3km.5. Distance markers every kilometer.6. No seconding allowed.7. Temporary licenses will be on sale at an additional R25.00 to the entry fee payable for the 21km and at an additional R20.00 to the entry fee payable for the 10km race.8. Registered entrants must be a member of a club affiliated to ASA and wear club colours and a 2015 license number on the back and front of their vest.9. Entrants must be at least 15 years or older on the day of the MTN Race to enter for the 10km and 21km race. There is no age restriction for the 5km fun run. However, everyone under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or an adult during the MTN Race and at the play area.10. Numerical age category ID tags must be worn on the back and front of the vest by entrants competing for a category prize.11. Proof of age must be provided to MTN Race officials on the day of the MTN Race if required.12. Cut-off will take place at the first 9km for the 21km race after two hours and the participants will be re-routed to the 10km finish line.13. Regretfully no entrants on wheelchairs will be allowed due to the nature of the route.14. 2, 3 or 4 wheel carts/prams which are mechanically or manually operated by participants will not be permitted to participate without the special permission of the MTN Race organizers and traffic authorities.15. Entrants will be eligible to win an open prize plus a prize for the age category that they are participating in.16. No entrant can qualify for any prize unless wearing a license or temporary license.17. No pets will be allowed to participate with their owners. 18. International entrants must provide a clearance letter from their country of origin to the referee in the event of their winning a prize.19. The pictures taken at the MTN Race may be utilized for marketing purpose only.20. Entry fee is not refundable.21. Marshals and all officials to be obeyed at all times. Failure to comply with the instructions of marshals and officials may lead to immediate disqualification.22. A tog-bag area is available. While care is taken with stored items, MTN will not be responsible for loss of or damage to property.23. No musical ear pieces are allowed.24. Parking at MTN premises is at your own risk.25. Race number collection: Race office on Thursday 11 June @ 9:00am – 18:00pm | Friday 12 June @ 9:00am – 18:00pm at MTN Innovation Centre, 14th Avenue, Fairland, Johannesburg.26. The MTN Race is run in accordance with the rules of ASA and CGA. Entrants indemnify the national, provincial and regional bodies, sponsors and organizers of the MTN Race against all and any actions ofwhatsoever nature.27. MTN its respective directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors, subsidiaries and sponsors assume no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss or damage, including but not limited to physical harm or death, howsoever arising from or as a result of an entrant’s participation in the MTN Race or the entrant’s redemption of any prize in terms of this MTN Race, or from any amendments to prize details and/or the terms and conditions of this MTN Race. All entrants (including the winner) hereby expressly indemnify MTN in this regard and shall hold it harmless from all and any claims arising from or as a result of the above reasons.28. In so far as it is necessary, required by law or beyond the reasonable control of MTN, MTN reserves the right to vary the nature of the prize or these terms and conditions upon notice in this regard being published on www.mtn.co.za or in another appropriate medium. In the event that the prize is limited or varied in this manner, MTN shall replace the prize with a prize of a similar economic value.29.
