FIRST EVER GRAND TASTING OF CHINESE FINE WINES IN BEIJING WITH WORLD- FAMOUS CRITICS BETTANE & DESSEAUVE B eijing, China - February 12th, 2015 The French Junior Chamber of Beijing (JCEFP), in partnership with internationally acclaimed French wine critics Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve, founders and authors of the Bettane+Desseauve Wine Guide, is honoured to announce the 'Bettane+Desseauve Chinese Wine Tasting', a series of tasting events that will take place on the 5th and 6th of March in Beijing. Several dozen wines from some of the best wine producing regions in China will be tasted by a panel of experts, with the best ones to be listed in the 2nd Edition of Bettane+Desseauve Wine Guide in Chinese. The 'Bettane+Desseauve Chinese Wine Tasting' will debut with the 'Chinese Wines' Night' on the 5th of March at Temple Restaurant Beijing's yet-to-be-unveiled new venue. The evening will kick off during the cocktail reception with presentation, a 'Journey through the Chinese terroir', introducing various Chinese wine regions and given by Mr Li Demei, an award winning wine consultant and one of the most respected Chinese oenological professors in the world. Then follows the gala dinner with special guests from the tasting panel, including Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve who will be glad to comment on the wines selected to accompany the fine French food served and share their thoughts with wine aficionados and enthusiasts present. Registration for the 'Chinese Wines' Night' is now open with seats available for RMB880 per person. The professional blind tasting, supervised by French sommelier Nicolas Carré, will take place the next day, Friday March 6th, at the Himalaya Club in the 798 art district. The jury panel led by the French duo Bettane+Desseauve, their China-based taster Jean Marc Nolant, Li Demei, Ma Huiqin, Sun Zhijun, Fongyee Walker, Lu Yang, Huang Shan, Natalie Sibille and Simon Zhou. Results will be announced around 7 PM at the end of a cocktail ceremony during which guests can taste, enjoy and compare all the wines included in the tasting event! The best of them will be included in the 2015- 2016 Bettane+Desseauve Wine Guide in Chinese, a precedent for Chinese wines. Registration for the cocktail ceremony is open for RMB180/person. Guests are limited to one hundred.

About Bettane and Desseauve Bettane+Desseauve (Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve) are two French wine journalists and critics. After devoting 25 years to the Revue du vin de France as Chief Editors, they founded their own company in 2005 then started releasing annually the namesake wine guide, which is considered as the most respected one by French wine makers. They are both regular contributors to a number of internationally renowned media, such as The World of Fine Wine, Espresso, Paris Match, Les Echos, to name a few.
