Shop with Scrip and Support our Youth Ministries!

Did you know that every time you use Scrip our church youth benefit? in 2018, over $3,000 was given towards the youth mission trip, all because of YOU using Scrip! Already this year, Scrip is contributing $10 gift cards to our 30 College "We Care" packages!

Let's make 2019 the year of our biggest Scrip success story for our youth! Contact Brenda Saunders for special Scrip requests, or pick up Scrip before every church service!

The last day for Sunday School will be May 5th. We will resume again in September, after Labor Day -

be watching for the exact start date in future Lamplighters.

Mark your calendars for Vacation Bible School to be held July 15th-19th - “In the Wild: Amazing Encounters with Jesus” - from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. each day. Watch for registration information com-ing soon in the weekend announcements and the June Lamplighter.

Upcoming Celebrations...

Senior Recognition Sunday will be on May 12th

at the 8:00 A.M.

service, followed by a reception to honor our graduating seniors.

Confirmation Sunday will be on June 9th

at the 9:00 A.M. service.

A reception will be held to help them celebrate following the service.

SAVE THE DATE for a “Daughter of the King Tea Party”!

The last weekend in June, we hope to host a Mother & Daughter (and/or

Grandmother, etc.) Tea Party that focuses on how special we are to our Heav-

enly Father! More details to follow in June, but please email lisaguetz-

[email protected] if you are interested in this type of event and how many might

attend so that we can begin the planning process! This event

is for any age and will have a craft and story time for children!

Thank you for the fountain in honor of

Stewardship Update

Church Attendance...

Why do we even bother to go to church? I hope

it is because you are a Christian and the

church is important to you in many ways. We

get baptized, we went to Sunday School as a

youth, we pray, we hear God's word, we take

communion...you know your reasons.

God only asks for about a couple of hours out

of your day once a week. Plus, we offer a Sat-

urday service and two services on Sunday to

try and fit your schedule. So why for many do

we not attend every Sunday? Because we

have to be honest with ourselves and admit

that God is not a priority in our lives.

Hebrews 10:24-25 says "and let us consider

how we may spur one another on toward love

and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting

together, as some are in the habit of doing,

but let us encourage one another and all the

more as you see the Day approaching". We

say we want to have more faith: Romans 10:17

- "So faith comes from what is heard, and what

is heard comes by the

preaching of Christ." How

will you hear pastor's ser-

mon if you are not here

every worship service to

build your faith?

We say we want Christ in our lives. Act 2:42 -

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles’

teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of

bread and the prayers". We serve communion

every week. How is that for having Christ in

your lives? Let's start to make God and his

Church a priority every week in our lives today.

Sincerely,

Larry Richmond

Stewardship Chair

The “Mission of the Month” for May will go to

Nebraska Flood Relief (through the NALC).

"Let's flood the noisy can with our giving."

Adult Choir Schedule - May 2019

May 5th - Rehearse at 9:15 A.M.

Sing at 10:30 A.M.

May 12th

- Sing at 8:00 A.M.

Thank you to all the choir members, our

accompanist, Nick, and all the other musi-

cians who provided special music to en-

hance our worship services during Holy

Week. It was all very much appreciated!

Thank You!

Thank you so much for your very, very gener-

ous donation to our Christians Concerned hy-

giene program. The expense of many of these

items is a hardship for our senior citizens, dis-

abled, and low income families. These items

are very much appreciated by those we serve.

Thank you again for helping us help others!

- Deb Hamblin, Operation New View

I would like to acknowledge with sincere ap-

preciation your “Mission of the Month” gift of

$149.75. We are grateful for your ongoing sup-

port of Camp Courageous and the special

campers who are served.
