Getting Ready to Celebrate?
In spite of the fact that many of us in this world often
assume that life happens out of our control, the reality
remains that, more often than not, we do what we choose
to do. Granted, several of our choices have been
predetermined by the laws of nature, the rules of
governments, and the policies of commercial enterprises.
Still, the reality of life on this planet, for adults living in
freedom (which, most likely, includes everyone reading
this), is that we choose what we do... the responsibility of
how we spend our time cannot be delegated to others. Of course, as active citizens of God’s Kingdom, we have
learned that He has given each of us an assignment to
complete with the life and freedom that we enjoy. The
task of sharing the Good News of God’s love expressed
through the birth, life, sacrificial death, and resurrection
of His Only Son, the Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth cannot be
ignored as we remain faithful followers in God’s family.
For that reason, we sometimes choose to do and go and
share in activities that provide opportunities for others to
be introduced To the gift of life eternal with the Creator of
the Universe who loves each of us and wants to share that
gift with us.

This December, with God’s permission, we will worship Him
and remember the birth of Jesus with a slightly different
approach than we have used in recent times. Each Sunday
morning in December, we plan to share part of a special
worship presentation entitled “Heaven and Nature Sing.”
This presentation will occur during the first part of worship
each week. Naturally, “Heaven and Nature Sing” will
include several Christmas carols that everyone can sing. The
presentations will also include some dramatic skits (with
some humor), as well as Scripture readings and other
elements. In order to receive the full message of the
presentation, you will need to be present all four Sundays in
December.
In addition to “Heaven and Nature Sing” each week, our
worship time will also include Communion, Giving, and
Gospel Preaching. In fact, Doug is preparing a special
Christmas-themed series, as well, that he will announce
with more detail later.
Of course, for this special Christmas presentation to happen
effectively, each of us will need to choose to spend some of
our time in preparation and leadership. First, each of us
reading this should begin now asking God to bless these
times of worship with people attending who have not
received His love gift, with strength and health for the
volunteers who plan to lead and participate with it, and
with a church family that will encourage and support
another effort to share God’s love gift with others. Second,
if God has blessed you with a strong voice, please volunteer
to help with this presentation. Third, if you know of
someone else that God has blessed with a strong voice,
frequently encourage them to volunteer to help with this
presentation.
. . .Conclusion Fourthly, and finally, please tell your friends and family that we
get together every Sunday morning to worship the Creator of
the Universe through His Son, Jesus, and invite them to be a
part of that. In addition, mention that we also plan to worship
and celebrate the birth of God’s Son in a special way each
Sunday in December. Please let us know if you have any
questions.
