Transformational Church Assessment Survey
The Transformational Church Assessment Tool (TCAT) provides the church with the ability to assess the
health of the congregation, celebrate areas of strength, and address areas of concern. Transformational churches
make disciples whose lives are being transformed by the gospel so that the culture around them is ultimately
transformed. The purpose of the assessment is to celebrate strengths, discover weaknesses. So the congregation
can say “This is who we are.” “This how God wants to use us.” “This is what our church should be doing be-
cause this is our strength.” “We’re weak in this area, but we can fix this.” “This doesn’t fit the personality of our
church, maybe we shouldn’t be doing this.” I believe this is the beginning of transforming our church into the
church that God desires us to be. It is the beginning because prayer and the Holy Spirit will ultimately tell us
who we are. But this assessment is a guideline that will help the process.
Here's what we can expect to learn through the TCAT:
How well we are integrating new members into the life of the church
How well members understand the vision and mission of the church
How they perceive the leadership of the church
How they feel about the small group ministry (Sunday School, small groups, etc.)
How meaningful their worship experience is
How they approach the lost within the local community
How prayer fits into their daily lives
Their attitudes about lasting relationships between members
How they think they should engage the community
