In the teaching environment, WrUT is to ensure the safe and healthy condition of surface, lighting, ventilation and heating equipment. Condition of school facilities include: furniture, equipment, appliances and installation; and cannot constitute a danger to persons using the premises

to health and safety are performed,

specific hazards, precautions and procedures must be displayed.

Each student is responsible for maintaining order at the workplace. At the laboratory benches and tables may be included only items necessary for the work.Bags, backpacks, and coats should not jeopardize

Drinking and eating is not allowed in the lab

Fire, and every dangerous occurrence: cuts, burns and unplanned ignition of a substance, breaking dishes/glas, etc. should be reported to the class leader

The rules of the lab and safety rules must be obeyed bystudents in the exercise of experience andexperimentation,

assuming the necessary personal protective equipment (apron, goggles, gloves, hearing protection, etc.), as directed by the teacher;removing or securing (by getting dress a lab coat/apron), loose clothing, neckties, scarves, etc. and gather/pin up long hair


During the experiment one should note that:

strictly follow the rules according to „good laboratory practice” rules of conduct and operating instructions for devices of the lab

in the case of any doubt how to proceed in the course of experience or observe its unexpected, unusual conduct, immediately ask the providers/teacher or the laboratory crew for help and advice



After completion of the experience:

Regarding the establishment and documentationof the circumstances and causes of studentaccidents

On average, about 30 accident cases are reported each year at WrUT (there are over 32,000 students). That why this training is provided for the first class students at begining of the semester and is obligatory


Every student accident during a courseorganized by the Wroclaw University ofTechnology, both within and outside WrUTfacilities, should be immediately reportedto the activities leader by the student.

This leader is obliged to provide first aidand notification of the incident to theproper Dean

records, analyse the circumstances of the event and prepare a case record. In the event of a

GROUP A GROUP A - fires to solid materials such as wood, textile materials, paper, rubber, plants, and some plastics. These materials are not melting in the heat to high temperatures


GROUP BGROUP B - flammable liquid fires (gasoline, paints, solvents, oils, lubricants) and the solid part of the materials, which melt in high temperature - change the physical state from the permanent to the liquid (paraffin, some plastics)


Group CGroup C - fire gases (methane, propane, butane, acetylene). There are relatively rare and require an action procedure. Indispensable for their decommissioning of a cut-off of gas to the combustion zone


Group D Group D - the metal fires, such as aluminum, magnesium, potassium or sodium. This is a type of fire that occurs relatively rarely. The risk of fire or even explosion of metal is almost exclusively in factories that use them as raw materials most often in the form of powder or metal flakes


Group FGroup F - to fire food fat. This is a particular type of fire that occurs rarely. The most effective way to extinguish these fires is the cut-off oxygen to the outbreak of fire

Do not use elevators / lifts. Move as close as possible to the floor, avoiding smoke, hot air,

and fire. Follow the instructions of fire.
