LESSONS LEARNED:

• architecture as a facilitator of conversations

• build to attract attention to places

• work with the municipality = information, contacts, support

• work with local partners = programme, support, maintenance

LESSONS LEARNED:

• to access a community, find a local partner, a key person

• research legal aspects beforehand

• people care in a passive way

• take part in the construction works, talk to people

• don’t overdesign the process

LESSONS LEARNED:

• a critical mass on the streets and a mayor with a vision is not enough. Critical mass is needed in the middle

• serious changes need serious investment

• it takes time, don’t rush it

• communication is crucial

• one stripe on the street can shake the whole city andhighlight future challenges. It rises debate, mobilizes actors

• everyone on the team must be prepared to explain the project in two sentences

• no one can pass through a brightly coloured installation without noticing it

• no one can resist good manners

• aesthetic matters

• good photos and videos are a must

Izaicinājumi:

- galamērķis Rīgas ielā - nav pievilcīgas vides gājējiem;- autotransporta tranzīta satiksme;- paaugstināts autotransporta ātrums;- gājēju drošība;- strūklaka kā nepieejama sala brauktuves vidū;- autonovietnes trūkums uzņēmumu klientiem;- uzņēmumiem nav iespējas izmantot laukumu (āra mēbeles);- troksnis nakts stundās no nakts kluba apmeklētājiem;- riteņbraucēju plūsma Rožu laukuma virzienā;- kāda ir Līvu laukuma identitāte?
