Into Neck:Normal level for all wines. In wines over 10 yearsof age, this level suggests excellent provenance.Rarely used, except to emphasize a particularlygood fill level when other fill levels in the same lotare less than perfect.

Base Neck:A common fill level at which many Châteauxrelease their wine. For wines of any age, this levelsuggests excellent provenance.

Top-Shoulder:Again, a common fill level at which manyChâteaux release their wine. For wines of anyage, this level suggests excellent provenance.

Very High Shoulder:Acceptable fill level for wines 8 or more years ofage. Suggests proper storage conditionsthroughout its life. Natural occurrence for winesof this age.

High Shoulder:Usually not a problem for wines in excess of 20years of age. This level may be caused by easingof the cork combined with natural evaporation.Check the clarity and the color of the wine in thebottle as a secondary indicator of provenance.

High-to-Mid-Shoulder:Refer to High Shoulder and Mid-Shoulder leveldescriptions.

Mid Shoulder:May suggest ullage during the life of the winedue to either easing of the cork or inconsistentstorage conditions. Not abnormal for wines 30 ormore years of age. As additional indicators ofrisk, definitely inspect clarity and color of thewine in the bottle, as well as condition of thecork.

Low Shoulder and Below:Suggests poor provenance. Definitely a risk andgenerally not saleable, with exception given torare bottlings and/or labels. Not recommendedfor consumption.

3. As used in these Conditions of Sale, the term “thefinal bid” means the price at which a lot is knockeddown to the Buyer, and the term “the purchase price”means the sum of the final bid and the premiumpayable by the Buyer under Condition 7.

4. Winefield’s reserves the right to withdraw any lotbefore or at the time of sale or to combine two ormore lots.

5. Many of the lots in this sale are offered subject toa reserve, which is a confidential minimum pricebelow which the lot will not be sold. Winefield’smayimplement the reserve by bidding on behalf ofthe Seller.

6. The highest bid acknowledged by the auctioneershall be the Buyer. The auctioneer has the right toreject any bid and to advance the bid at his /herabsolute discretion and, in the event of any disputebetween bidders, to determine the successful bidderor to re-offer and re-sell the property in dispute.Should there be any dispute af ter the sale,Winefield’s record of final sale shall be conclusive. On the fall of the auctioneer’s hammer, the Buyerassumes full risk and responsibility for the lot and maybe required to sign a confirmation of purchase, supplyhis /her name and address, and pay the full purchaseprice thereof. If the Buyer fails to comply with anysuch requirement, the lot may, at the auctioneer’sdiscretion, be re-auctioned and sold again.

7. The purchase price payable by a Buyer shall be thesum of the final bid and a premium of 20% of thefinal bid and Goods and Service Tax (GST) of 7%, where applicable. For live online bids the purchaseprice payable by a Buyer shall be the sum of the finaland a premium of 22% on the final bid and Goodsand Service Tax (GST) of 7%, where applicable.

8. The full purchase price of each lot shall be paidin full at the time of the sale or in such manner asthe Buyer has arranged with Winefield’s prior tothe auction. The sale price shall be exclusive of anystorage or delivery charges. Title to the propertywill not pass until payment has been made.

9. Goods will be released to the Buyer only onpresentation of an invoice marked “Paid,” signedby Winefield’s. No delivery will be made until fullpayment of the purchase price of the property hasbeen made to Winefield’s. Not less than an entirelot can be taken or delivered to one address andunless otherwise agreed in writing all goods shallbe removed or instructions given for removal within14 working days after the sale.

10. Bids which are submitted to Winefield’s inwriting or otherwise, prior to the sale, for executionat or below a specified price, are entertained andexecuted by Winefield’s for the convenience of thebidders, but Winefield’s shall not be responsible forfailing to execute such bids or for errors relating tothe execution of such bids.

11. If any applicable conditions herein are notcomplied with by the Buyer, Winefield’s may, inaddition to asserting all remedies available by law,including the right to hold the Buyer liable for thepurchase price, either cancel the sale, retaining asliquidated damages any payment made by the Buyer,or re-sell the property on seven days’ notice to theBuyer. If Winefield’s re-sells the property, the Buyershall be liable for the payment of any deficiencyin the purchase price and all costs and incidentaldamages including, but not limited to, warehousing,the expenses of both sales, reasonable attorney’sfees and all other charges due hereunder.12. Estimated prices are provided solely for theguidance of Buyers and are printed in the text .

13. The Buyer shall pay any applicable sales taxwhere applicable.

14. The respective rights and obligations of theparties in respect of the Conditions of Sale and theconduct of the auction shall be governed by andinterpreted pursuant to the Singapore law.
