Key words are the main words in a topic that are used to search the web. A search engine or database will list all items or web sites that contain those key words with links to those

items. The number of web sites or material found are called “hits”.

For example, if you wanted to search for the price of a new pair of Nike athletic shoes you

would use the key words:

Price of Nike shoes

The two types of searches we will be using will be:

1. a general Internet search using a search engine

such as
