INTRODUCTIONWe are one of the largest and most experienced providers of college based higher education in Wales. Higher Education is offered on all five of our campuses and provides a high quality university education in a friendly college setting. We offer a wide range of awards from honours degrees, foundation degrees, Higher National Certificates and Diplomas, as well as a select number of postgraduate and professional qualifications. Full time courses are available in a very wide selection of Art and Design disciplines, Agriculture, Animal Science, Care Studies, Computing, Engineering and Sports Coaching and Performance. These are supplemented with an even wider range of part time courses. With over 50 to choose from, we are confident there is a course available to suit your needs, whether you are a school leaver, in work or looking to enhance your career prospects.

UNIVERSITY OF WALES: TR IN ITY SA INT DAVID GROUP Coleg Sir Gâr is part of the University of Wales: Trinity Saint David Group - a Dual Sector University in south west Wales. The Group offers a range of integrated pathways from 16 upwards and has delivered transformational change for the region. University of Wales: Trinity Saint David validates all of the Higher Education awards on offer in the College. The close proximity of both institutions in Carmarthen allows Higher Education students at the Carmarthen campuses to benefit from the learning, sport and social facilities at Trinity Saint David’s Carmarthen campus.

STUDENT SUPPORT We strive to ensure that students receive the best support possible to help maximise their potential and make the most of their time at the College. We pride ourselves on the nature and range of support that is available through a team of committed and well-qualified staff. We have an excellent record of providing learning support for students with specific learning difficulties that have been identified through professional diagnostic assessment.

A bilingual Learning Support service is also available if you need additional support with coursework, assignments, report writing, proof reading, study skills, essay writing and examination techniques. Every effort is made to be as flexible as possible to allow for constraints such as work demands and childcare commitments. Study options include full-time, part-time and evenings only, depending on the course. Some courses offer concentrated block sessions and blended learning which combines attendance at college with distance learning.We have excellent learning resources and facilities across five campuses. Our learning centres offer a wide range of multimedia resources as well as a substantial book stock, periodicals and newspapers. Up to date IT facilities are available for research activity and to allow students to prepare assignments and engage with tutors on-line.Learner Support and Liaison Officers provide expert friendly advice and guidance, including assistance with fees, bursaries, financial support, childcare costs, personal welfare issues and accommodation. A full range of support services is also provided difficulties. Our full-time College Counsellor offers a confidential counselling service that allows students to talk privately about issues that might be worrying them.To prepare students for their future, careers education and guidance staff in partnership with Careers Wales help students make choices about their careers.

Students in employment should consider talking to their employer who may be prepared to sponsor them on a higher education course, if they consider this beneficial to their business.
