At HD Vest, our deep understanding of what clients seek in a wealth management relationship started with one CPA operating a successful tax and accounting practice. He began noticing a growing need for clients to receive financial advice that aligned with their tax situation and strategies. While his tax professional peers referred their clients to someone else, he recognized that this solution was not in their best interest. Often, clients were placed in the wrong investments by advisors who either did not fully understand the tax implications or failed to consider the client’s complete financial situation.

Not content to watch from the sidelines, he pioneered an industry change and formed HD Vest Financial Services®, lobbying to allow tax professionals to offer financial services, essentially reinventing the manner in which financial services could be delivered to clients.

CUSTODIAL SERVICES AND ACCOUNT PROTECTION

As part of our commitment to provide quality service to you, we have formed a strategic business alliance with First Clearing LLC., one of the nation’s leading brokerage clearing institutions. First Clearing provides HD Vest with efficient execution services for trading stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other securities on your behalf. In addition, they properly document and clear all transactions, including collection and payment of dividends and interest, the processing of corporate reorganizations, trade confirmations, monthly or quarterly statements, custody of assets, and annual tax-reporting summaries.

Our relationship with First Clearing brings us the benefit of a firm with deep roots in the full-service brokerage business and the strength of being affiliated with one of the largest financial services companies in America.

About First Clearing

Headquartered in St. Louis, First Clearing provides quality securities-execution and brokerage-clearance services to more than 100 securities firms throughout the United States.

First Clearing is a member of the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, and other major exchanges and is an affiliate of Wells Fargo & Company.

As a First Clearing client, you can feel assured knowing there are several ways your brokerage assets are protected. In the event of brokerage firm failure, you will receive SIPC coverage for up to $500,000, limited to $250,000 for claims or cash. Above and beyond SIPC coverage, First Clearing maintains additional insurance coverage through Lexington Insurance Company, an AIG Company (referred to here as “Lexington”). For clients who have received the full SIPC payout limit, First Clearing’s policy with Lexington provides additional coverage above the SIPC limits for any missing securities and cash in client investment accounts up to a firm aggregate limit of $1 billion (including up to $1.9 million for cash per client).
