APOLLO PILING SYSTEMS Alan Howat General Manager 8647 Coronet Road Edmonton, Alberta Canada T6E 4P2 Tel: 780-466-1952 Fax: 780-466-4161 [email protected] www.apollopilingsolutions.com Apollo Piling Systems are industry leaders in the installation of helical screw piles in Alberta and Western Canada. Apollo offers a complete foundation solution, from design, engineered drawings, field installation and on site project completion. Apollo‟s helical piles are green verified by Green Alberta as well they are manufactured in Alberta. Helical piles were first used in England invented by a blind engineer circa 1830, piles were originally used in construction of light houses off the coast in soils that were not suitable for standard construction procedures. Recently some piles that were installed around 1850 were removed and upon inspection they had not lost any of their integral strength, and could have been reinstalled. As well as the fact that piles can easily removed and re-used; there are several beneficial reason for their use. These include no tailing when installed, measurable installation torques this important in when verifying loads the piles can carry, no wait time for curing that comes when using concrete. Apollo has developed a portable hydraulic unit that allows for installation of piles in mature neighborhoods and yards, allowing for expansion of homes and business that would otherwise be restricted because of lack of proper foundation support. Apollo Piling Systems successfully use piles to build sunrooms, home additions, commercial buildings and retaining walls. The fact that our piles can be installed with a gradually torque build-up making installation in operating industrial plants a very safe option without need to cease operation. Please contact us for any application you may have and we would be pleased to provide you the information and costing you required in consideration of project go ahead.

DIRTT—‘Doing It Right This Time’; refers to creating unique workspaces with responsive, Agile Architectural Solutions. Self-expression and dynamic sustainability combine to produce customized, productive space that is a long-term asset. Further improving the process, DIRTT uses cutting edge design software called ICE®. Using all graphic information, 3D fly-throughs and instant updating, ICE vastly improves the speed, precision and custom abilities of manufacturing and installation. DIRTT‘s approach is to create the most flexible and customizable architectural interiors using modular elements. DIRTT‘s Movable Walls are open to more function and more customization than any other in the industry, while simultaneously giving designers virtually unlimited freedom. For clients, these walls support their legacy furniture, they are reconfigurable and easily refinished to suit future needs. It all comes together to create an environmentally sustainable, flexible, unique and highly productive office space. To create a fully agile space, DIRTT recommends modular plug & play power and data. Solutions from DIRTT subsidiaries, Spider Agile Technology and Axios give you control over the part of the office that changes the most without having to bring in expensive trades or dispose of wire every time there is a move, add or change. Both Spider, Axios and DIRTT Walls are in ICE software. On the surface ICE is a tool that simplifies and assists the design process for modular interiors. In the background ICE instantly adds up quotes, parts and pieces as the design is drawn and modified. In the foreground the designer creates options and professional looking proposals for client. But the most powerful implication of this first ever videogame based design program? Design concepts no longer get passed to a manufacturer for translation into catalogued manufactured products; a method rife with error especially when dealing with modular interior elements - the image is the order. As a company, DIRTT officially opened for business in May 2005. That date belies the fact that DIRTT is really a seasoned veteran in the field, comprised of experienced Modular Interior Construction experts. Construction, manufacturing, interior design and architecture - DIRTT‘s leadership team is stacked with professionals from all these fields. Mogens Smed and many of his handpicked ‗DIRTTbags‘ come from the most successful movable wall company and most successful technology desking company in North America. DIRTT has been recognized by the commercial construction and healthcare industry with numerous design and environmental awards. The company has gone from zero to well over $100 million in sales in six years. Booth #6500S

What some people don‘t know is that there‘s a technology on the market that can create up to a 90% energy efficient seal on open doors by simply re-circulating facility air across the doorway. ―Air Barriers‖ manufactured and designed by Enershield an Edmonton, Alberta based company, have been saving facilities energy and money as well as enhancing employee/client comfort for the past 13 years. Enershield manufactures Air Barriers for any size opening. It also can be utilized to keep bugs, dust, warm summer air and in cold storage facilities to keep the warm air from entering the coolers/freezers. As fuel costs continue to rise to record levels, pressure is mounting for companies to be more energy efficient. Air Barriers are not only an energy saving solution; they help maintain a more comfortable indoor climate and help to reduce wear and tear on heating/cooling systems and doors. If an open door is a concern for your facility due to the effects of: energy costs, employee/client discomfort, bugs / insects, temperature differential or dust and fumes, contact Enershield Industries. They will assess your application and select the right Air Barrier to address your needs. Booth #7039S

Our products can be installed in both residential and commercial buildings, and are designed to improve heating and ventilation systems through reduced fuel consumption, enhanced comfort and reduced stress to HVAC equipment. Certainly our most popular products have proven to be our motorized air control dampers. Our HOM Combustion Air Dampers are made to open when fresh air is required for combustion, and close when it isn‟t, preventing the entry of unnecessary cold air. We also make HAC Universal Air Control Dampers which control the flow of fresh air for ventilation. They come in various sizes, and can be custom made to include several options, which make them adaptable to a wide variety of applications. Another innovative product developed at HMI is our motorless air exchanger. Utilizing the heat from stale moist air being exhausted from the home, the air exchanger is able to temper the cold fresh air being drawn in by the furnace fan. Hoyme also manufactures a complete line of interface relay adaptors used to control our fresh air dampers, which can be interlocked with existing HVAC systems, and also to control zone air. Our dampers and accessories have proven to be well accepted by the HVAC industry, and are internationally certified by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) for both United States and Canada.

HI-VELOCITY / ENERGY SAVING PRODUCTS Erni O’Hara General Manager 12615 -124 Street Edmonton, Alberta Canada T5L 0N8 Tel: 780-453-2093 Fax: 780-453-2011 [email protected] www.hi-velocity.com The Hi-Velocity System is a high pressure forced air delivery system that can be designed to provide heating, cooling, filtration, ventilation, and humidification. The Hi-Velocity System has been pre-engineered and works on the principle of pressure rather than air velocity. The Hi-Velocity System does not make or break any existing laws; it just uses those laws differently than a conventional low velocity system. It is quite different from a conventional furnace, the main difference being that the supply duct work is all ―small diameter‖ or ―mini duct‖. Because the plenum duct is pressurized, dust build-up within the duct work is eliminated. With continuous air circulation from the constant fan, airborne dust and other allergens can be easily filtered out of the air. With a pressurized small diameter duct we condition the air differently than conventional forced air systems. With the use of a high pressure area to low pressure area, we continuously mix the room air, creating even temperatures from floor to ceiling. Our Cooling modules are highly efficient and very effective at removing moisture from the air. Not only do we cool the air, we use a lower air velocity which allows the Hi-Velocity System to remove more moisture from the passing air molecules. The Hi-Velocity System achieves a superior Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) with an innovative fan coil and cooling module design. This technology helps create a healthier and more enjoyable indoor living environment for the end-user.

UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY - CANADA's SOLAR DECATHLON 2011 TRTL - Technological Residence Traditional Living Teagon Murray Project Manager 2500 University Dr. NW Calgary, Alberta Canada T2N 1N4 Tel: 403-210-7534 [email protected] www.solardecathlon.ca The Solar Decathlon The U.S. Department of Energy‟s biennial Solar Decathlon competition challenges 20 international student teams to design, build, and operate solar‐powered houses. Winning teams will demonstrate the viability of solar power in today‟s residential market through a home that is efficient, affordable, and attractive, according to a panel of industry experts. All entries are displayed to the public, on the National Mall in the historic heart of Washington D.C., from September 23rd to October 2nd, 2011. TRTL - Canada's Team The University of Calgary is the only Canadian entry accepted into the Solar Decathlon 2011. Our interdisciplinary student‐led effort includes participation from the Faculty of Environmental Design, the Schulich School of Engineering, and the Haskayne School of Business. Building on a successful 6th place finish in the 2009 Decathlon, Canada's team is carrying forth a legacy of valuable partnerships between academia, industry, government and community. TRTL - Technological Residence Traditional Living An affordable and sustainable Native housing design TRTL (pronounced 'turtle') addresses contemporary issues in Native housing. Designed in collaboration with Treaty 7 First Nations of southern Alberta, TRTL integrates cutting edge green building methods and cultural design considerations. An 8.7kW photovoltaic array is engineered to produce as much energy as the home consumes in the course of a year (annual net-zero). When combined with a highly efficient and simple mechanical system, operating and maintenance costs are minimized. TRTL's shell is built of TitanWall magnesium oxide structural insulated panels (SIPs). These are highly resistant to fire and mould, resulting in a home that is healthy and safe. The SIPs and steel sub-frame provide a projected lifecycle of 75-100 years, reducing replacement costs, and representing a superior opportunity for long term investment relative to many structures on Native reserve lands. Cultural considerations have been notably absent in contemporary Native housing design. TRTL is inspired by the Tipi - it's solar power, rounded form and east facing entrance honor the sun as a traditional source of energy and life. The home's open concept is flexible, with open space centered on gathering, cooking and eating. Local natural materials and colors, and cultural arts and crafts connect the home to Native community

values and identity. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the First Nations of Treaty 7. The result is a unique marriage of culture and technology that will not only offer competitive advantage in the 2011 Decathlon, but also contribute to vital dialogue surrounding current socioeconomic challenges.

WATER REVITALIZATION LTD. Laura Powers Office Manager 420 Kaska Road Sherwood Park, Alberta Canada T8A 4G8 Tel: 1-888-333-6616 [email protected] www.granderwater.com The Grander® Technology is the product of more than three decades of research into molecular resonance and the structure of water by Austrian naturalist and inventor Johann Grander. The result is a breakthrough water treatment technology that restores a coherent, higher order molecular structure to water. In so doing, water quality is restored at the most fundamental level possible, and issues such as uncontrolled algae and bacteria growth, scale formation and high corrosion rates are naturally resolved. The result is both remarkable and surprising, but not unprecedented. What the laser beam is to light, the Grander® Technology is to water. A laser is nothing but ordinary photons of light moving in resonance with one another, but when this highly ordered state is achieved light becomes far more than a source of illumination. Likewise, when water‟s molecular structure is elevated to a higher order condition, the water displays properties, which simply cannot be achieved otherwise. Best of all, the technology is solid state, requires no chemicals or electrical power, and contains no moving parts. Because the technology is simply regenerating water‟s original molecular condition, which is the true underpinning of genuine water quality, it is essentially universal in its application.
