Dear conference attendees,

Concrete, the “liquid rock”, has arrived in the 21st century. Along this route from a low-tech to a high-tech construction material, innovations are constantly being conceived in the fields of concrete technology and production equipment that will determine how we will cope with the major challenges of the 21st century: resource depletion and climate change. Any thorough, practice-driven re-search must thus find answers to pressing issues such as the con-dition of buildings, structures and settlements and also provide the corresponding innovative solutions. This year's IAB Science Days on 16 and 17 November 2016 will showcase such solutions.

More than 50 renowned speakers from academia and industry will present the latest trends and developments within the Weimar dual-conference format. A simultaneous English/Russian <–> Ger-man interpretation service will be available for selected panels. Interested researchers, architects, engineers and construction ex-perts are invited to actively shape these processes so that research can respond to practical needs even more effectively. We look for-ward to welcoming national and international attendees from the construction, building materials and construction equipment in-dustries. The accompanying exhibition and an evening get-togeth-er will provide even more opportunities to get hands-on input and to share experience and expertise.
