• Example of how the new Standards are far more explicit. Feedback from RTOs was taken on board when the Standards were being developed and this is the result.
• This example demonstrates how Clause 1.3b mentions Educational and support services and these are explicitly listed in the glossary
• Example of needing to jump around the Standards between the clauses, glossary and schedule to ensure they are interpreted and applied correctly

• As the WA regulatory body TAC are required to comply with these the same as RTOs are required to be compliant with the RTO Standards
• Like the RTO Standards these are far more prescriptive and provide greater clarity around roles and responsibilities
• Recognition that one size doesn’t fit all– particular focus on reducing regulatory burden on high preforming RTOs and focusing on those consistently demonstrating non‐compliance.
• Greater requirement on providing education and guidelines to assist RTOs to comply with the Standards. This won’t be in place during audits, but we will be taking more of a focus on the information to help support and guide RTOs through the regulatory process.
