Final OJT Report

On the first day of my training on the job...I was slightly confused of what Imsupposed to do. The work place was really busy, and everyone seemed to know exactlywhat they were doing . The next few days, didnt change much...but after quite sometime, I gradually got used to the new atmosphere and got comfortable with the people inthe office.

I learned alot...especially in terms of using computer-aided drafting programs, aswe normally do manual drafting and perspectives in school, I wasnt very familiar withthem. I also learned lots of techniques and tips from senior designers about how to dostuff in the least time possible, as theres a lot of time pressure to meet deadlines. Alsolearned stuff about conceptualizing, and about restrictions in designing for actualconstruction.

What interests me most are site visits. Seeing projects come to life, watchingsomething you only thought of in your head happening before your eyes. I understandits not really easy, and some things could go wrong in the construction and its up toyou to make them work and stuff, but I guess its really worth it after you see it finished

and your clients happy.

During this OJT period, I got to peek into the real world of designers, its a bitdifferent from the one in school. But I learned from my mentors that they survive the realworld because they were prepared and molded during their student lives. So Illcontinue to do my best and gather all the abilities to make it to join the designers in thereal world.
