Computer Animation and Data Visualization (Fall 2017) Final Project Presentations Guidelines General Criteria On Friday 22 nd December (15 th Week), we will have mid-evaluation presentations of the final project. You will have 6 minutes to describe your projects to the rest of the class, and 2 minutes for questions & answers session. Well-made and well-organized slideshow requires the following elements: A main title slide at the front of the slideshow. Have titles for each slide. Must be well-edited for spellings, caps, punctuations. Use approximately 10-12 slides (a section may have more than one slide). You may use more than 12 slides but only if you can manage it within the given time. Use only good quality graphics - Avoid slides with huge amounts of text or poor contrast between background and text. The more you can use short bullets to make your points, the better. Try not to “read” the slides; use conversational tone to convey your points. Use large fonts; be sure the image reads well from the back of the lecture room. Sample slide presentation: (no more than 15 slides and aim for 10) 1. Introduction: Brief introduction summing up the importance / purpose of the project and the research field along with its application. [1 or 2 slides] 2. Proposed work in the assigned research paper. [ 1 or 2 slides] 3. Related Work: Comparison of the assigned research paper with related research work. [1 slide] 4. Limitations in the assigned paper: limitations which you discovered while working on your project/reading the assigned paper. What were the limitations mentioned in the paper that the authors failed to address. [1 slide] 5. Goals (Objectives) – Mention how you are going to overcome the limitations and implement the research paper with your approach. Overview of your proposed idea. [1 or 2 slides] 6. Evaluation Parameters / Comparison Criteria. [ 1 slide] 7. Conclusions / Challenges in the work / accomplishment in implementation – [1 or 2 slides] Note: Manage your time well!
