Final Program
10th AnnualNeuroMeeting - Siena, May 13-15, 2010
WelcomeThe 10th AnnualNeuroMeeting
The AnnualNeuroMeeting was founded in 2000 to unite our Colleagues involved in neuro-
science activities and so to improve outcomes for patients with life-threatening neurologi-
cal illnesses by promoting quality patient care, professional collaboration across multiple
disciplines, research, training, and advocacy. The 10th Anniversary Edition of the Meeting
cements these goals during three full days of interactive sessions. Topics during this year’s
meeting include advances for the brain and spinal cord therapy, including imaging and
monitoring. Challenges in providing adult and pediatric neurocritical care , and more tech-
nology, is a topic for discussion and may help define the role of neurointensivists when
working collaboratively with other specialists. A new offering this year is a three-day morn-
ing series of sessions of Lectures that will focus on topics regarding general critical care and
neurological critical care. Their competencies are fundamental to specialists in neurocritical
care independent of a practitioner’s primary specialty which may include neurology, neu-
rosurgery, internal medicine, anesthesiology, pediatrics or surgery. We are excited about
this year’s Educational review courses and AnnualNeuroMeeting and encourage you to join
us and a national and international group of experts as they share knowledge, research,
ideas, and challenges that face practitioners in neurocritical care. As principal adviser who
has encouraged and personally followed the creation of the first event, Professor Mark A.
Rockoff (Boston, USA) has been elected Honorary President of the 10th Anniversary of the
AnnualNeuroMeeting. On behalf of the AnnualNeuroMeeting Program Committee, I invite
you to meet with us in Siena !
