The Event that Brings it Together

The Problem:
Our Idea:
Massive Pep Rally at the beginning of the Fall, Winter, and Spring sports seasons.
Goal is to increase campus morale and invigorate athletic teams
What it will look like: Open to the community/festival (students, family, local residents)
Intertwined with orientation (great way to welcome incoming freshmen)
Students/Community will become familiar with all sports teams
Coaches/Players from each team will have the chance to speak to the student body (plans for upcoming season, what support the teams may need)
What it will look like continued…
Want to make event fun for all Students, children, faculty, etc…
Connect with Student Life as they already have “Spring Carnival”
Have games, contests, information
Have coaches and captains speak to the audience about team goals and what kind of support they’d like
Finish with Bonfire or some kind of coming together
Current Similar Ideas
Only current thing is Midnight Madness/ Ballin on Burwell
Not done every year and only 1 sport
Drawbacks
Too many Pep-Rallies
Not all teams represented
Timing of events overlapping with current seasons
Possible too much emphasis on one team
Solutions
Only three Pep-Rallies, one at beginning of each season
Having all teams represented/explaining team goals
Finding best possible times so that current season teams aren’t effected
Celebration of all season teams not just one main one
Benefits
Increase Community, both Queens and surrounding, involvement/awareness
Provide teams support and warmth, acknowledge dedication + success
Increase school spirit
Increase support system amongst teams All of us are fighting for the same “team”
