ForewordThe Placements Team at IIM Kozhikode takes immense pride in announcingthe successful culmination of the Final Placements season for the PGP batchof 2016-18. The team would like to sincerely acknowledge the effort andcontribution of every individual who has been with us in our journey andhas paved the way in raising the stature of IIM Kozhikode globally.
First and foremost, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to ourrecruiters who have continued to lay faith in the capabilities of the studentsat IIM Kozhikode. Batch of 2016-18 | Profile
The PGP batch of 2016-18 consists of over 33% students from prestigious colleges like IITs,BITS, NITs & SRCC. The summer placements for the batch held in 2016 set new milestoneswith 45% of the batch interning with companies in the Sales & Marketing domain followedby 17% of the batch procuring General Management and Finance roles. Established firmsrecruited in good numbers for Operations and IT/ITES profiles as well.Male – Female Ratio

The PGP batch of 2016-18 had 382students participating in theplacements process which involvedmajor recruiters like Amazon,Avendus Capital, BCG, HUL, ITC,McKinsey, Microsoft among others.The average CTC saw an increasefrom 17.65 LPA in 2017 to 17.8 LPA in2018. Also, the average salaryoffered to the top 50% of the batchmaintained its upward trendincreasing from 20.1 LPA in 2017 to21.0 LPA in 2018.

Average SalariesStudents also secured Internationaloffers from companies like Arthur D.Little and Tolaram Group. Thenumber of firms participating in theplacements process in 2018 increasedby more than 50% as compared tolast year. Notably, 59 companieswhich participated were Fortune 500.

Consulting emerged as the preferredvertical for the students of IIM Kozhikodeand continued its upward trend with 26%of the batch bagging offers at covetedfirms such as Arthur D. Little, BostonConsulting Group, United Health Groupand the Big Four – Deloitte, EY, KPMGand PwC.
The institute witnessed marqueerecruiters such as Avendus Capital,Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase &Company opening Investment Bankingprofiles and established names such asAxis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank andStandard Chartered Bank extendingoffers in the Commercial Bankingdomain.
IIM Kozhikode remains a haven forconglomerates in the GeneralManagement vertical and witnessedparticipation from companies such asTAS, Mahindra & Mahindra, RelianceIndustries, RPG Group, Airtel, Cipla andSaint Gobain for the managementleadership programmes.
The technology, business intelligenceand allied fields included companies likeMicrosoft, Accenture, American Express,Shell and other regular recruiters whoposited their faith in the students of IIMKozhikode. 18% of the batch wasrecruited for prestigious roles such asProduct Management and TechnologyConsulting.
One of the most popular verticals at IIMKozhikode – Sales & Marketingwitnessed participation by firms such asHUL, Reckitt Benckiser, ColgatePalmolive, ITC & Samsung. PSUs such asBPCL and IOCL also recruited for theirMarketing cadre in large numbers.
Candidates seeking exposure to SupplyChain Management and Logistics wereoffered operations roles by notablerecruiters such as Amazon, Asian Paintsand Larsen & Toubro. Conglomeratessuch as Shapoorji Pallonji and varioustransnational firms like Citibank offeredstrategy roles.
