2Class of 2012-14 || Batch Profile
Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi has yet again reaffirmed its
position as one of the country's premier management institutes. This year has
been an extremely fruitful one with the institute being consistently ranked one
amongst the best management schools of the country.
A recent Stanford study on Indian Management Schools ranked the institute
second best in the country in management research, a facet of the institute that
we have always taken pride in. The belief the outside world and corporate places
on the quality management education that DMS, IIT Delhi imparts, has rightly
reflected in the placement offers the students ended up with. This placement
season was an exceedingly successful one with corporate stalwarts battling it out
to recruit the best management talent. Some of the major recruiters this year were
Amazon, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, GE, KPMG, National Instruments and RBS.

The class of 2014 was offered coveted profiles across domains with some of the
most respected names in the industry looking for candidates in the talented
student pool of DMS, IIT Delhi. Students received offers for profiles like
Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Consulting, Banking and Finance,
General Management. Students at DMS were offered leadership roles with various
reputed organizations. Even the negative market sentiment could not impact
overall domestic salary average which stood at a healthy 12.52 LPA (INR). The
highest accepted salary for this year was 18.50 LPA (INR).

Continuing the trend of the previous years, operations profiles were offered in
plenty for the students. Some of the recruiters that showed faith in the talent at
DMS this year were Amazon, Daimler, Dr. Reddys, Ranbaxy, Ibibo, Idea Cellular
and Robert Bosch. Amazon turned out to be a major recruiter at DMS this year.
Impressed with the quality of students, the e-commerce giant offered multiple
roles and is keen on continuing the partnership. Challenging roles were offered
in Operations, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Plant and Program
Management. 4
Finance
The finance domain seemed to attract
many at DMS with 22% of the batch placed
in profiles such as Leadership
Development Program, Risk Management,
Commercial Banking, Investment Banking,
Credit Risk Analysis & Banking Operations.
Students at DMS received offers from some
of the best organizations in the industry
such as Axis Bank, GE, Indus Valley
Partners, Nomura and Royal Bank of
Scotland.
Consulting
Consulting strongly marked its presence as the preferred career choice of many
with almost 20% of the batch opting for various consulting roles in companies
like Axtria, Cognizant Business Consulting, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG and
Virtusa. Varied profiles like Business Consulting, Supply Chain & Operations
Consulting, HR Consulting & Risk Advisory were offered to the students at DMS.

With strong exposure to marketing
research & business development,
students at DMS were able to attract
various sales and marketing profiles
from a number of reputed
organizations in the industry. Some of
the organisations that participated and
offered roles in sales & marketing
domain this year were Aryaka
Networks, Ibibo, Idea Celullar, Mitsui
chemicals, National Instruments and
Trident.
