Sliding filament theory

• Myosin cross bridge couples with actin filament

• Cross bridge flexes and uses ATP to move actin along a small amount

• Cross bridge detaches (ADP released) and re-cocks

• After pulling the actin, the head releases ADP, and binds a new molecule of ATP. This results in release of the head from the actin

• Process is repeated

Winners???

• 40 questions, 1/2 mark each

• Read each answer carefully!
