DEVELOPMENTS NEW EQUIPMENT, PROCESSES, & MATERIALS On-Line Plating Bath Analyzer Asoma Instruments Inc. Austin, Texas Asoma announces a new application for the Model 600L on-line plating bath analyzer to provide continuous, in-process monitoring of gold concen- trations in electroless and immersion baths. Employing the technique of X- ray fluorescence the analyzer reports gold concentrations by direct observa- tion of the bath as continuously circu- lated through a flow cell. The analysis process is closed-loop and nondestruc- tive so no waste products are gener- ated. The 600L's output can be used to maintain optimal bath stoichiometry by controlling automated additions of replenishment concentrates. Features include multiple-stream analysis, com- puter control of measuring head, and the data can be directed to an at-line visual display or printer. increase of each filter in a multistagepaint booth filtration system. The device will enable all paint booth operations in the aerospace industry to quantifiably determine which filter stagesare dirty and should be changed. Theframe is designed to fit within an existing paint booth's framework, is easyto install and maintain, adapts to anysize filter rack, and performs equallywell in either two- or three-stage filtersystems.
