WHAT IS A FILM DISTRIBUTER?

A film distributer will represent the film, sometimes at things like film festivals.

They will attempt to sell your text to tv ( including terestrial, satellite and cable)

This is what will happen for a short film

Normally a film distributer will make sure your film is well known internationally, make sure that as many people as possible go and see the film and also make it available to as many people as possible.

An independent film distributer will sell their film themselves on their own website or on another website like google play or iTunes.

HAMMER FILMS

Hammer films is a small English film company which would probably be a good start for my film distribution because they are a small company and i have just created a film so although it would still be a risk for them it would not be as big of a risk if someone like warner bros. tried to distribute my film because they would be funding it and it is not known or projected that my film will be a success or if it will fail.

Hammer films would probably be the most realistic film distributer for me to go to, they are a well known English company but they are not as well known worldwide, this could work to my advantage when looking to bring out my first film.

WARNER BROS.

Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. is an American media company that makes film, television and music entertainment. As one of the major film studios, it is a subsidiary of Time Warner, with its headquarters in Burbank, California.

Warner Bros. is a very unrealistic target for me, being probably the best distribution company in the world, arguably on par or better than Disney, they will have millions of films to choose from and so they wouldn’t want to take a chance on my first film that will be coming out.
