過去近10年以來，27歲的菲傭Xyza Cruz Bacani服侍著香港的一個家庭。空閒之餘，她則
帶著相機到城市裡捕捉街頭之美。然而，這一切到01/22/2015有了重大改變：她的攝影
作品讓她獲得遠赴盛名的Magnum人權獎學金，並得以到美國紐約大學進行深造。Bacani
表示，當下收到消息的那一刻，她哭了。
對Bacani來說，獲得正規教育如同美夢成真。他在約九年前，便加入媽媽到香港作為外籍
勞工。當她還在菲律賓時，就熱愛攝影，但直到抵達香港後的幾年，她才買了一台相機—
Nikon D90…用的是向他老闆借來的錢。Bacani的作品以黑白為主，並有著強烈的光影對
比，讓人一見難忘。
For the past 10 years, 27-year-old Xyza Cruz Bacani has been working as a domestic
worker for a wealthy Chinese family in Hong Kong. On her days off, she brings her
camera onto her city’s sidewalks and captures impressive street photos.
Yesterday, Bacani’s life took a dramatic turn: she was announced as a recipient of
the 2015 Human Rights Fellowship by the Magnum Foundation, a prestigious
scholarship that will give her the opportunity to study in an intensive, six-week-long
program at New York University in NYC.
