2 | The long term rental marketLTR REGISTRATIONS DO BETTER THAN THE REST OF THE AUTOMOTIVE MARKET.

The LTR market is more spared than the rest of the market. Despite an overall decline in registrations, this quarter saw 100 514 new vehicles registered in LTR. The LTR market recorded a better variation (0.35 point of percentage) than the overall automotive market. LTR vehicles thus represent 24.3% of total automotive market sales.

Although the containment measures were lifted as of May 11, regulatory restrictions are impediments to implementation of business. In this context, the LTR ensures a better performance than the rest of the automotive total market. Certainly, the LTR registrations decreased in April 2020, but they show a growth rate of 4.9% in June, the last month of the quarter.

With 77 949 registrations in Q2 2020, the passenger car segment of the market LTR is in line with the downturn in the global automotive market. Registration of 22 565 ULV in LTR follows the downward trend, with a variation 0.6 percentage points higher than the global automotive market.

*The list of registering companies has been updated in the 2nd quarter 2019 (hence the difference on LTR registrations communicated before the 2nd quarter 2019).

Sesamlld Organisation : Founded in 1978, the SNLVLD became Sesamlld in 2018. It represents commercial companies engaged in the long-term rental of vehicles in France. Sesamlld’s members represent 92,5% of the sector’s activity in France. The long-term rental of vehicles (passenger cars and commercial vehicles) has established its legitimacy in the corporate sector, since it provides a flexible solution to the organisational and management needs of companies. It provides significant support to the automotive industry.

SHARP DECLINE IN DIESEL AND GASOLINE IN LTR FLEETS The registrations of Diesel LTR vehicles are decreasing significantly: 58.8% of the light vehicles in long-term leasing registered in Q2 2020 are Diesel vehicles compared with 63.4% in Q2 2019. The share of gasoline-powered vehicles in LTR fleets decrease less than that of Diesel. Nevertheless, there was a 2.5 percentage point compared to the same quarter of the previous year: 29.3% of LV petrol in Q2 2020, compared with 31.8% petrol registrations over the same period in 2019.

THE CAFE STANDARD ACCELERATES THE EVOLUTION OF THE ENERGY MIX The share of vehicles running on alternative energies is increasing significantly in the LTR fleets, which account for around 12% of registrations in Q2 2020, or more than 7 additional points than in Q2 2019, in particular in anticipation of the CAFE standard. Hybrid vehicles are driving this growth: 8.3% of light vehicles LLCs registered in Q2 2020 are hybrid vehicles, whereas they were only 3.3% in Q2 2019.

FOCUS CO2: THE LTR BEHAVES BETTER THAN THE GLOBAL MARKETFleets with long-term leasing are at the forefront of the fight against C02 emissions, and are therefore more virtuous than those of the global market. The average CO2 emissions from vehicles registered in long-term leasing remains lower than those of the automotive market excluding LTR. The average CO2 rate of vehicles registered in long-term rental in the 2nd quarter of 2020 is 134.3 g/CO2 per km, compared to 136.7 g/CO2 per km for the rest of the market. Emissions from the LTR fleet are therefore 1.8% lower than emissions from the rest of the automotive market.
