1950’s - Henry Kaiser’s engineers installed $5 million worth of air pollution control equipment.

“We’re working to be a part of the answer,” a Kaiser leader said,” instead of part of the problem.”

When Henry J. Kaiser built the first American steel mill west of the Rockies, seen here in the 1940s, he ordered his engineers to make it the cleanest in the U.S.
