Through these years we have become a trendsetter in the eld and one of the industry’s most innovative and exible suppliers. This is a position that has resulted in a number of national and international design awards.

The foundation for our progress and market position is our product quality. By this we mean not only user-friendliness and durability but also aesthetics. Our products are intended to awaken feelings, in both the kitchen and the restaurant, and thereby contribute to giving the guests the best experience. As a further contribution to our customers’ pro tability, we are proud of being able to supply products that are known for their unique strength and durability. Figgjo offers its customers a ve-year warranty against rim damage on all at, round plates.

It is a matter of honour for us constantly to develop our range, and bring new and exciting products to our customers. This is something for which we can thank our designers and their close collaboration with leading designers and chef milieus all over the world. This collaboration enables us to evaluate trends at an early stage and develop products and solutions that enhance the experience and the value of the meal. DESIGN AWARDSMany of our products have received The Norwegian Design Award and The Award for Design Excellence. We have also received the International Reddot Design Award for two of our Figgjo Front products. The design awards are an acknowledgment of our constant focus on innovation and product development with emphasis’ on functionality and aesthetics. The products that have received awards are marked in the product range.

ENVIRONMENTFiggjo adheres to high environmental regulations and requirements and exceeds the standards to protect the natural resources and environment.

Figgjo’s products are produced in Norway, which means closer transporting to our largest markets located in the Northern part of Europe. Figgjo has recently made investments in a comprehensive cleaning plant for the air and process water from the factory. The result is little or no contamination in the emissions produced from our factory.

Figgjo manufactures its products with the use of clean and renewable energy in the form of electricity and natural gas. Our ongoing environmental projects include the recycling of production waste and energy saving during production.

Figgjo is certi ed according to Quality Management Standard NS-EN ISO 9001:2008 and the Environmental Management Standard NS-EN ISO 14001:2004.

INSPIRATION PRODUCT ASSORTMENT

FIGGJO FRONTOur most innovative products are collected in Figgjo Front, consisting of products developed to capture and create the latest trends and needs so that the professional kitchen is able to present food in new and surprising ways.

FIGGJO BASE SERIESOur base series consist of plates and cups with saucers. The different base series provide many different angles of approach to function and aesthetics, from our top series Figgjo Front Dining to our reasonably priced and functional series such as Figgjo 35.

FIGGJO COMBINATION CUPS/-MUGS AND COMBINATION PLATESThe combination products have been developed to be combined with all of Figgjo’s base series, and contains alternative cups with saucers and plates.

FIGGJO BOWLS, TRAYS, AND FIGGJO GASTRONORMFiggjo Bowls and Trays has a wide range of products. From the smallest trays and bowls to the largest which can be used for Buffet. Figgjo Gastronorm is a series of forms tailored to the international kitchen standard, which fi ts all kitchens, food counters and buffets, and has good functionality.

FIGGJO ACCESSORIESFiggjo Accessories contribute to a complete install ation. Here you fi nd for example tea- and coffee-pots, jugs, salt and pepper shakers, tooth pick-holders, vases and jars. These can be combined with all of Figgjo’s base series.

FIGGJO PATTERN ASSORTMENT – STANDARD PATTERNS AND CUSTOMIZED DECORATIONSAll of Figgjo’s models can be decorated. Figgjo has developed a number of standard patterns, which are in stock and can be ordered in small numbers; see the overview of standard patterns from page 51. Special patterns are developed especially for the customer. Figgjo supplies company gifts for any occasion, both with or without customized decorations. For more information page 60.

The above fi gure shows the structure of Figgjo’s product assortment.The product assortment is dynamic and fl exible, creating ample opportunity for the individual to put together his own installation. Our products have been developed with focus on combination possibilities and can therefore be selected freely on the basis of aesthetic and functional requirements.

We recommend our customers starting off with choosing a base series (1) then you may choose combination plates (2) that suit all base series’ and with products from our innovative Figgjo Front collection (3) you will create an overall unique expression. Then you pick your combination cups and mugs (4/5), accessories (6), trays (7) and bowls (9), and Gastronorm (8) to complete the installation.

FIGGJO FRONT DINING

Figgjo Front Dining is positioned at the top among professional chinaware. This series is remarkably thinner than many of Figgjo’s other products. This gives a perfect balance between elegance and function. The design is modern and complete and allows the chef to be more creative without having to deviate from the requirements to quality, strength and functionality. The series consists of various flat and deep plates both with and without a rim, varying from 15 cm to 35 cm in diameter. This gives the user a variety of possibilities when presenting the food.

Figgjo Grad is both elegant and stylish, at the same time as being highly functional. It can therefore be used everywhere from trendy restaurants and bistros to banquet serving. Figgjo Grad is clear and taut, and also lives up to all possible requirements of user functionality. The angle of the rim makes each element easy to handle. Figgjo Ting distinguishes itself in most situations. The products have been inspired by the services of previous epochs, and have a modern and timeless expression. The series is characterized by its combination possibilities. The plates are designed with a large and restricted eating surface. Plates for warm food have a rim, while plates for cold food are without a rim and can also be used as bowls.

FIGGJO VERDE

Figgjo Verde is an adequate and focused, functional and elegant series, with a modern Scandinavian appearance that has borrowed design elements from the Orient. The plates have a large and open eating surface. The series’ mug is one of Figgjo’s most popular.

Figgjo Klassik lives and moves outside all trends and has a discreet expression that is timeless. This is an extensive series with many applications. The cups come with and without stacking. Figgjo Klassik is the basis for several of our relief series and can easily be combined with these.

HOW TO TREAT FIGGJO CHINAWARE

Washing chinaWhite chinaware and chinaware where the decoration is under or in the glaze like Figgjo’s may be washed in a dishwasher without any problem. Gold and platinum decorations do however require greater care when washing.

Nevertheless, an incorrect washing process using too much detergent or excessive water temperatures may attack the glaze. Just as important as the right detergent, is using them correctly. Detergents are normally highly alkaline, and using too much can attack the glaze. Excessive water temperatures can aggravate this further. Dishwasher detergent needs will vary, depending on water quality, areas of use and so forth. Training from the supplier in the use of the dishwasher and detergents is important. Users should adjust the washing process together with their detergent supplier.

General requirements for dishwasher detergents • It must dissolve and remove food particles such as proteins, carbohydrates and fats.• It must remove stains from tannins in coffee and tea.• It must contain binding agents that prevent the adhesion of metal ions in the water,

such as calcium.

General requirements for dishwashers and the washing process• Pre-wash with water no hotter than 40˚C, to prevent proteins and starches from

sticking and discolouring the glaze. Rinse the chinaware by hand if the dishwasher is not programmed for pre-wash.

• Main wash with detergent at a minimum of 60˚C for at least one minute to ensure good washing results.

• Rinse with water and a rinsing agent at minimum of 72˚C for 15 seconds to ensure that the chinaware is disinfected.

• Let the chinaware dry until it is cold, before putting it away. • Never wash chinaware and cutlery in the same basket or let steel and chinaware come into

contact with one another. • Soak the chinaware with a suitable soaking agent regularly to avoid or remove any

discoloration.

Glaze wearGlaze wear arises mainly from stacking, emptying the dishwasher and the like. You can reduce friction between the plates by using a rinsing agent, which will reduce the wear from stacking. Glaze wear on cups arises especially because they vibrate against one another in the dishwasher. Use of dishwasher racks with compartments will help to prevent glaze wear.

Metal marksMetal can rub off from steel work surfaces or fl atware with soft steel, and such marks cannot be removed with detergents. Both the alloy and the manufacturing technique determine the quality and hardness of the steel. Flatware is recommended with a steel quality of 18/8 or 18/10, where the knife blade is of a tempered steel quality equivalent to 14 % chromium steel. A rule of thumb is that a magnet will attract chromium steel, but not 18/8 or 18/10 steel.

Oven and microwaveAll Figgjo chinaware may be safely used in ovens up to 300˚C, but must be given a slow and steady rise and fall in temperature. Gold and platinum decorated chinaware must not be used in the microwave.
