“This Veterans Day, I believe we should do more than sing the praises of the bravery and patriotism that our veterans have embodied in the past. We should take this opportunity to re-evaluate how we are treating our veterans in the present.”

Program Director Notes…. Dear friends,
Hi all! Happy November! We have so many exciting trips and special events this month. Make sure to read the rules listed on the back of the trip sheet regarding our cancellation policy. This is very important information, especially as we attend more ticketed events in November and December.
We will no longer be offering yoga on Monday mornings and Thursday afternoons. Hopefully, starting in January, we will offer more exercise classes with the launch of the new “Silver and Fit” program. More information on this program to be revealed soon!
Wishing you all a great Thanksgiving holiday! Gobble, gobble!

Center Director Notes... Dear Friends:
The Donelson Fall Festival & BBQ was a huge success!! We exceeded our goal of $8,000, raising more than $11,000!
This event’s success is because of all the support from the members and community. While I can’t list everyone here, I want to point out a few who went above and beyond. The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office was instrumental in getting the tents set and everything clean and in place. Virginia Doak worked countless hours in the Bargain Basement, organizing, cleaning and pricing items to sell! Her team raised $1500!! Thanks to Jim Belcher and Charlie Cardwell for running the cash register. We are grateful to everyone who provided, packaged and sold hundreds of dollars in desserts. Jamie London and her “scare team” did an amazing job with the Haunted Theatre raising more than $600 for the Senior Center for the Arts. Thanks to Kevin, Liz and Jeff of the Palm Tree Café for giving up the kitchen so that the food could be prepared. A huge thank you to Larry Keeton and his team for the hours spent cooking the delicious BBQ and fixings! Thanks to Brad Kamer for overseeing the BBQ Hut and volunteers, building the stage, lighting the tents, and so much more! Finally, thanks to the staff for the extra hours and efforts doing whatever was needed! Thank you so much to everyone!!
Sincerely,
Angela Bryan
