From Father Stephen: The 2018 Catholic Charities Annual Appeal will take place next weekend in our parish, as it will throughout the entire Diocese of Cleveland. Please refer to the insert in this week’s bulletin which in-cludes our parish’s goal—$84,566 —and an over-view of the importance of Catholic Charities in our communities. This year’s appeal theme is Your Mercy: Transforming Lives and Communities. Your generous support will transform the lives of others, to offer dignity, possibilities and compan-ionship to those who are most vulnerable. As in the past, an in-pew commitment process will take place next weekend, February 10- 11. All who have not received the mailing from Bishop Perez, or have not had a chance to respond to it, will be asked to consider making a generous pledge to support the ministries and services provided by Catholic Charities. If you have received the mail-ing, please respond generously to it. To foster a spirit of prayerful solidarity, even those who have responded in advance will be asked to complete the in-pew envelope and indicate by checking the box that you have responded by mail. We invite you to view the stories of inspiration and more infor-mation at: www.catholiccommunity.org/2018Appeal. With this Saturday’s Mass, we formally conclude Catholic Schools Week. However, why not keep the momentum of celebration going? At most of the Masses, we will hear a testimonial from one of our current St. Mary School students. Thank you to all parishioners for continuing to keep the school in your prayers and in your perspective of those things that make us a vital parish. In this issue, you will discover news regarding our upcoming Lenten mission. While it is a few weeks away, we want to spread the word as widely as possible, in order to maximize our participation. The first evening will consist of a very peaceful and meditative prayer service, to open our hearts to the healing power of Jesus. The following two nights will be led by Deacon Robin Adair, from the community of St. Augustine in Barberton. Start now to make plans to join us! On Wednesday of that same week, once again the Diocese of Cleve-land will celebrate the healing of Reconciliation by having Confessions available at every church in the diocese.

Peace,

Please remember the following in your prayers as they re-ceive a sacrament of the Church:

Wedding Banns:

II Matthew T. Dunn & Ashley N. Whittlesey

Anointing Mass: Wednesday, Feb 7 at 9:30am

While our hope is often for the healing of the physical illness, those who receive this sacrament are assured to receive what they need: healing of mind, body, and soul as only God knows.

WORLD DAY FOR CONSECRATED LIFE

This Sunday we celebrate World Day For Consecrated Life. We recognize and give thanks for those who have consecrated their lives to God and the Church through the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. The con-secrated life is one way that women and men live out their baptismal commitment as followers of Jesus. Please pray for all those who have made commit-ments in the consecrated life, and be sure to thank them on their special day.

Parish Mission—DAY 1

Habitat for Humanity in Wayne County

Dear St. Mary’s, When I give myself a minute to stop and think about how Habitat is able to con-tinue building I’m actually stunned by the donations and support that we re-ceive from our community. What a fantastic build we had in your parking lot! That was one for our books and we are grateful to everyone who participated! You can drive by Mindy’s house and be reminded how you helped build hope in the Jackson family’s lives! THANK YOU!!! God bless you! Beth Weaver, Habitat Director
