Welcome to the Fifth AnnualLeadership is You! ConferenceDear Conference Participants:

Welcome to the fifth Annual Leadership Is You! Conference sponsored by Edmonds Community College. We are excited that you have chosen to spend this afternoon with us to develop your leadership skills and connecting with other students who share the same goal! Famed Russian novelist Leo Tolstoy said, “Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” To change our school, community, nation, or even the world requires us to first change ourselves. We hope today will help in that process.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Intersections.” The conference planning committee has designed this conference to provide leadership skills for those of you who may already be leaders and for those of you who are beginning to develop your leadership abilities. It is our hope that with the combination of inspiring breakout sessions and this year’s keynote speaker, Jon Vroman that you will challenge yourself to think, reflect, and engage. You are making an investment of your time and the college is making an investment in your leadership development! Step out and take an active part in your learning and maybe, just maybe, you will be motivated to continue to learn more, experience more, and give back to your school and community.

A special thanks to all who have played a role in putting this conference together, the presenters, volunteers, and the Associated Students of Edmonds Community College for funding the conference. Enjoy this opportunity and afternoon ahead! The conference planning committee has enjoyed planning the Leadership Is You! Conference and wants you to learn and have fun!
