Live the Liturgy ~ Inspiration for the Week
Any good farmer will tell you that regardless of how good the quality of the
seed, its sprouting and bearing of effective fruit is dependent upon the
quality of the soil. Preparing the soil is one of the most essential components
of farming. There is no doubt that the seed of God’s Word will eventually
achieve its purpose. God cannot and will not fail. When and how that seed
bears fruit is, however, dependent upon us. What is the quality and condition
of your soil? Life’s concerns and preoccupations can cause us to become
inattentive to our inner life. This sometimes unintentional neglect can result
in our soil becoming hard, overgrown with weeds, rocky, parched, and
lifeless. When God’s seed is sown, it doesn’t always take root because it
struggles to establish roots and flourish. How can you more attentively
attend to the soil of your heart so that it will be a fertile and vital place for
the fruit of the Gospel to grow?

Questions of the Week
First Reading
The prophet Isaiah assured the captive
Israelites exiled in Babylon that God’s word is
reliable and purposeful. Does this bring you comfort
or distress?
Second Reading
Paul speaks of a spiritual connection and yearning for
freedom (redemption) shared between us and
creation itself. What do you think a redeemed
creation looks like?
Gospel Reading
Why do you think Jesus explains the parable of the
sower to his disciples but not to the crowds?
We Care Fund Applications
All Saints has been very generous to this
fund dedicated to helping those in
economic hardship because of the
epidemic. So far, approximately $14,954
has been donated. $5,100 has been disbursed to 11
households to help them with mortgages, rents,
utilities and food. If you know someone in need,
please direct them to our website or app to fill out an
application.
All Saints Women’s Group
Our mission is to encourage and unite the
women of All Saints Parish to join in prayer,
fellowship and to build a closer relationship with
Christ. Our next Zoom meeting is scheduled for
Monday, July 20th. Please call the Parish Office if you
would like to join us!
Today (Sunday) is Veggie Give-Away day.
Hopefully, those who accepted starter plants
in May have some veggies to give away.
But we would like to honor and thank our
Marketing and Health Teams for coordinating
and organizing this effort.
It's the kind of event that lifts spirits in
a time when they need a bit of lifting.
Thank you to the many who helped make it happen.

From today’s Gospel…
“Whoever has ears ought to hear.”
How and When do we listen to God?
What has God told us lately that we need to do?
Has God asked us to share God’s love in a specific way,
with a specific person?
Let’s listen closely this week.
In this weekend’s Gospel we hear…
A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some
seed fell on…the path… rocky ground… among
thorns… rich soil.
Are we the sower or the seed?
If we are sowing seeds, what is our method?
Do we randomly scatter the seed?
Meticulously plant it in rows?
Are we intentionally planting seeds?
Or do we just hope that some of the seeds in our
pocket drop out once in a while?
If we are the seeds, what does our soil look like lately?
Are we the untended rocky ground?
Are we living among thorns that we haven’t pruned
out of the soil of our life?
Are we on the same old path not looking for ways to
grow?
Are we physically, emotionally and spiritually caring
for ourselves developing rich soil?
This week, let’s take the time to intentionally consider
our needs for growth.
Then we can choose how to be of help to others.
For anyone who might be interested in growing in the
area of social justice, take a look at the following
