Imagine a world without waste! For a fleeting 20 days only to celebrate the Festival’s 20th year, a living, breathing building will spring up on the banks of the Yarra.

Melbourne Food and Wine Festival Greenhouse by Joost utilises sustainable ideas in every green corner of the building, from food sourcing and production, through to architecture, building materials and furniture design.

With a verdant rooftop bar housing over 30 plants and a luscious garden scaling the walls, it’s a tranquil space to soak up the Festival’s buzzing atmosphere.

Celebrating a philosophy of seasonal food in its freshest form, the breakfast, lunch and dinner menu by Matt Stone is truly ‘local’ featuring wheat milled onsite; herbs cut from the rooftop garden; and yoghurt and butter made from organic milk and cream.

Created by Melbourne visionary and sustainable designer, Joost Bakker, this is the most ambitious Greenhouse to date. Miss it and you’ve missed it forever.

The global greats from 20 years of MasterClassMelbourne Food and Wine Festival presents a world-first photographic project, featuring an extraordinary assembly of 22 influential gastronomic stars from across the globe, all of whom have played a creative role in painting the Festival’s vibrant 20-year history.
