Introduction to the game The FIFA world cup competition I have chosen was the 2006 World Cup. It was held from the 31st May to the 30th of June 2006. It was held in GermanyIt was about 64 matches with 32 teams.
The finalist Who won Who Scored The finalists were Italy, France, Germany and The Portugal were finalists
Italy came in 1st place France came in 2nd then Germany came in 3rd and finally Portugal were in 4th.
Italy beat France in the finals. They won 5-3 against France this was the fourth time Italy had won.
Scoring SequenceZidane made the first goal for France with a far distance kick. As it went on the player Marco Materizzi shot the goal by his head with a twisted angle near the corner of the goal when it was offside. From there on people werent sure about the whole idea. France looked like they had a better chance since very close goals were shot by Zidane in the wrong angle. Then they had come to a tie making it a penalty shootout this surely brought the game a little more intense matter. So at the end David Trezeguet missed his penalty and Italy won.
Choose 1 of the goals and describe using Football terminology the sequence of play leading up to the goal. The 2nd goal of the match was unbelievable. Marco Materizzi had shot a headshot into the goal with the help of Luca Toni. As Toni took the touch off this ball he had did a far distance kick and as Marco rises up in the air and does a perfect headshot right in the corner of this goal.
What could the defense have done to more effectively try and stop the goal being scored?
Try to catch up with your opponent or just be fast on your feet.Surprise your opponent by staying quiet then take the ball when unnoticing.
When he/her is approaching surround her but do not attach to him/her.You should stand near the goalie and the goal itself to defend it.Dont always watch the game just watch the ball.Know the weaknesses of your team or try finding their weak point. You should not go after the ball unless they have an attempt of scoring
Using the same scoring sequence what individual skills have been used by the attacking team?
The Italian team was ready for the ball to approach. As Toni went threw the France team he approached his dribbling with the ball and then shot a far distance to Materizzi making a headshot into the France goal. As along the other were surround near the goalie.
Was there any movement off the ball by other attackers to draw defenders away from the goal scorer? If yes what happened and what was the effect of this?
Some of the attack of the other team tried to kick the ball but was too high for them thats why it ended up in a headshot by Materizzi. Defenders jumped in the air to hit it back with their heads but it had failed. Zidane did not approve this goal but he had no back up.
