CONTINUEo As the guardian of the game, FIFA – with its 209 member associations – accepts a responsibility that goes beyond simply organising the FIFA World Cup and developing the game itself. o In recent years, the world football’s governing body has further strengthened its commitment to building a better future by defining a social responsibility strategy, by setting up an award-winning Corporate Social Responsibility Department.

HOW FIFA HANDLE IT ? I feel that the crisis could not have been prevented. Although ethical regulations were set for committee members, it is difficult to monitor what goes on behind closed doors. Many of the accusations that were made about individual members were false, and some of them were not supported by enough evidence to convict. With the of the nature of this crisis, I feel that Fédération International de Football Association did a great job responding to the crisis.

CONTINUE The organization leaders immediately addressed the issued and explained to the public through a news release on the first day. It gave the organization a chance to gain control before the media. Addressing it so quickly, and the constant updates and information to the public and media also helped show the transparency of the organization. I feel that the transparency is important to build and maintain trust with the stakeholders around the organization.

Also, the quick response by FIFA to investigate the allegations was a smart decision.

Page 15: Fifa scam crisis

CONCLUSION Overall, the crisis that FIFA faced was inevitable. However, the organization took the necessary steps in a timely manner, and continues to investigate and update media and the publics. The media has responded in a neutral stance, and it seems that FIFA is working with the media to best represent the organization.
