At what level is the FI-MM, FI-SD account determination settings?

They are at the chart of accounts level.

How do you go about setting the FI MM account determination?

FI MM settings are maintained in transaction code OBYC. Within these there

are various transaction keys to be maintained like B!" W#!" $BB" %#& etc.

In each of these transaction keys you s'ecify the $( accounts )hich getautomatically 'assed at the time of entry. Fe) e*am'les could be+ B!,

tands for Inventory %osting &ebit $BB,tands for $oods

Issue-cra''ing-delivery of goods etc %#&, tands for %rice &ifferences.

Can we change the valuation class in the material master once it is

assigned?

Once a material is assigned to a valuation class in the material master record"

)e can change it only if the stocks for that material are nil. If the stock e*ists

for that material" then )e cannot change the valuation class. In such a case" if

the stock e*ists" )e have to transfer the stocks or issue the stocks and make

the stock nil for the s'ecific valuation class. Then only )e )ill be able to

change the valuation class.

hat is !aluation and Account assignment in SA"?

This is actually the link bet)een Materials Management and Finance. The

valuation in % can be at the 'lant level or the com'any code level. If you

define valuation at the 'lant level then you can have different 'rices for the

same material in the various 'lants. If you kee' it at the com'any code level

you can have only 'rice across all 'lants. /aluation also involves the %rice

Control .0ach material is assigned to a material ty'e in Materials

Management and every material is valuated either in Moving verage %rice

or tandard %rice in %. These are the t)o ty'es of 'rice control available.

The /aluation Class in the ccounting 1 /ie) in Material Master is the main

link bet)een Material Master and Finance. This /aluation Class along )ith

the combination of the transaction keys 2B!" W#!" $BB" and %#&3 defined

We can grou' together different materials )ith similar 'ro'erties by

Does the moving average #rice change in the material master

during issue o$ the stoc% assuming that the #rice control $or thematerial is Moving Average?

The moving average 'rice in the case of goods issue remains unchanged.

$oods issues are al)ays valuated at the current moving average 'rice. It is

only in goods recei't that the moving average 'rice might change. goods

issue only reduces the total 6uantity and the total value in relation to the
